Hi everybody! I've been lurking here for a while, researching and reading up and vibrating with excitement as I prepared to welcome a cat into my life. Yesterday I went to the SPCA, and this sweet boy chose me. He curled up on my shoulder, licked my cheek, purred up a storm, and buried his sweet face in the crook of my arm. I am absolutely enamored.
I've named him Jem, after Scout's brother in To Kill a Mockingbird. I'm studying English at university, and my childhood dog Scout passed away in February, so this seems like a good way to honor him.
Jem was found as a stray, and they think he's about four. He is my very first pet that is all mine, rather than a family pet!
I love him to pieces. Now, here are the pictures!
