So my brother and his wife just moved back to Florida. They are staying at my parent's house for the time being, and my brother has two small dogs: a dachshund and a yorki-poo. Pixie is a calm, laid-back cat but is spooked by dogs. Anyhow, my mom loves Pixie and always wants me to bring him to her house when I visit, she even has a litter box for him. Pixie and I went to visit last weekend and met the dogs. When the dogs approached him, he hissed, growled a bit, and his body language was telling them "I don't want to fight you, but if you come any closer, I'm going to take some action." We separated them immediately, and Pixie was back to his old self a few minutes later. Is there a proper way to introduce cats and dogs? This is something I'm not very familiar with.
