I feel like their enforcement is spotty and targeted. What's really odd is that they don't seem to care about the unsightly deck furniture that's falling apart because there's no weather protection on my deck. I feel like any effort to make this deck workable is just going to be shot down by the uneven whims of the community managers. And there's a 50% markup between my rent and market rate. This is far too expensive a hill to die on.

The sun finally came out and I caved in to an early dinner for Betty. She is now taking her after dinner nap in her fluff hut. All is right once again in her world. Despite the sun being out, I know how deceptively cold it still is. I'll wait for tomorrow or Friday. Give the deck a chance to dry so I don't have to juggle footwear at the deck door. Or have to go out later during dinner and again after dinner to change from wash to dry and pickup the dry.

Super first world problem. 🤦‍♂️ 😸
" I feel like their enforcement is spotty and targeted." I wasn't going to say. But I think you're right.

I believe you're right, Margot Lane Margot Lane .
And daftcat75 daftcat75 I know. It can be overwhelming. I have days where I cry and acknowledge the big hole in my life and home, because of the (temporary, physical) loss of so MANY loved ones. But their love is all around me and I know we shall be reunited in due time.
What beautiful pictures of Krista! She is watching over you and Betty. And I know she is very glad of Betty being in your life.

Oof! She doesn’t look or feel that much heavier. But there it is. 11.1 lbs. We’re going in the wrong direction. I will have to trim her portions further and perhaps look into a less carby food to get into rotation. And more play.

Oh NOES! Well, more play is always a happy thing, right? But yeah, 11.1(!) is going for girthy. So...a tad less A/D for you, girl! :hearthrob: :kneading::hearthrob::sigh:

Margot Lane Margot Lane I saw in another thread that your boy has been on 5 mg pred a day for two years. I thought better than to hijack that thread. Is he overweight? Are you having a hard time keeping his weight under control with the pred?

In possibly unrelated news, I got Betty's latest AnimalBiome report back. Not only does it seem like the poobiotics aren't moving the needle, but she actually went backwards a bit. That missing phyla that was coming back went missing again and the clostridium has gone high again. I've decided to try to cut back to every other day dosing on it because $100/month is just too expensive for something that isn't fulfilling its promise. I can't totally blame it. Betty's on medications and they keep telling me she needs fiber and exercise. So we're going to try to address all of those. The last batch of s. boulardii pills I made, I mixed a very small amount of fiber in with them. Probably not enough to move the needle yet. But also not likely to cause her any additional discomfort. We're definitely playing more. And the meds? I want to wait until I'm all caught up on expenses including both of our dentals and taxes before I sign up for anything that could set her back and put me out another $700-$1500 in ER expenses if we find out the hard way that she's not ready to taper any further from here. Being mostly caught up on the vet expenses, I'm now feeling the pinch of her regular maintenance--prescription drugs, prescription food, and boutique supplements. 🤦‍♂️

Well, the results are disappointing! but it sounds like you have a plan worked out for the short term, anyway.

I don’t know if that’s a paw or a nose. There was a bed in the way of me getting any closer without waking her. 🤦🏼‍♂️

It is definitely a challenge, thanks for asking (and don’t want to hijack this thread either). Like you I use a baby scale & also just give him small portions.

like most, she is waiting for some decent SUN, dad!
We were actually having some decent sun this weekend. But not the warmth yet. And it comes and goes. We're right on the edge of better weather. Which of course means we'll have one more wet month. April showers bring May flowers. And you know what Mayflowers bring? Puritans! Ugh! 🤦‍♂️😹

I just noticed today that Betty's starting to shed. Maybe we wait another month or two before we try to adjust her pred again. Luckily that love bug love love loves brushing, the Love Glove, the Zoom Groom, you name it! If she's getting extra attention, she's game. 😻😽

Looking closer, I think that was a paw. But I thought that would make a great Instagram if it was a nose. 😽
I don't suppose you are one of those people who, like me, remember the Cat Nose Ring wing of the Animal Nose Ring here on the vastness of cyberspace? I've tried to find it and don't think it exists any more. But while it did, there were adorable pix of, what else? CAT NOSES.
Elvis is leaving great gouts of furzles around, too. He loves his brushing, and I oblige him (and me) frequently. But he still leaves those soft surprises here and there.
Yeah, I feel the same way about those Puritans. Wish we could have sent them back. But anyway.
My gardeners whacked my mom's Martha Washington (oh gosh, that's kinda in the same neighborhood as Puritans. But these are beautiful flowers, so we'll forgive them) and there's not a one in sight.
:sigh:

They looked like this in past years. They would have been spectacular this year, after all the rain we've had...

Betty took her first Cosequin chew. And now we wait to see if it rips right through her like it did with Krista. 🤦‍♂️ 😿 The recommended initial dose is 2 chews. But we're going to learn our Greenies lesson and ramp up to that if she can handle one daily for a few days. We may as well try the more conservative and more affordable arthritis treatments first before signing up for my most expensive subscription. I used to be a member of Core Power Yoga at $125/month. But I would be lucky to get Solensia at that price. I know there is Adequan to try before those. But let's give Cosequin its due. And if the GI specialist is not concerned about combining pred and CBD, we may try CBD at some point.

The best for Betty, also at the best price. Hoping this will work for her! and be approved by her care team.
