Speaking of shopping and Secret Santas, do you know anything about “Google Shop?’ Is that an Amazon Alternative? I hate shopping, but it is unavoidable at times.
Pardons for the above question, it’s really quite irrelevant! 🐾 Let’s get back to Betty! :)

Doh! I missed with Betty's meds, not once but twice this morning. 🤦‍♂️ 😿 I shot half the syringe clear across her mouth onto her back. The plunger didn't go all the way down. So I chased her down and tried to get the other half into her. Half a dose is better than none, right? She doesn't like the liquid meds and I don't blame her. That stuff is foul. But she was having even less of it this second time. When I finally got her mouth open, shoot! The second half also went across her mouth and ended up on her back. I briefly thought about letting her groom her meds off herself. But I know she won't. And in the meantime, she'd get that stuff everywhere. So I brought a brush to bed and when she joined me for third sleep, she got an extra brushing. As expected, she didn't touch breakfast. I got her to come down and take a couple of carpet morsels just to avoid the sour tummy spits. I'm expecting about the same or less out of lunch. I'll make certain she takes a couple of carpet morsels just to stave off the spits. We'll get evening meds right.

Google Shop sounds like an Amazon alternative. And probably more wild. I like Amazon. They've been doing this a long time that they've smoothed out the rough edges that a lot of other third-party marketplaces don't bother with. Except my Anker power station. They gave it to FedEx to deliver. And you know how much I hate FedEx. Apparently, they must have gotten tired of me calling them liars because Sunday's missed delivery (who delivers on Sunday?!) came with a photograph of the locked gate. That's why you don't deliver on Sundays! I redirected that to a FedEx retail location and I'm still waiting for the "ready for pickup" notification. Apparently they aren't doing anything to shake off the "lazy" criticism I also level on them. I bought myself something else that is being shipped via UPS. And now UPS charges for redirecting to a pickup location. I already paid for shipping and now I have to pay for shipping again because their drivers are only slightly less incompetent than FedEx?! This feels like extortion! "You want your package? You're going have to pay twice for it." They get one delivery attempt today. If they can't figure out the gate (like Amazon seems to do every time! never get missed delivery exceptions with Amazon drivers), I'll be calling them up to yell at their support and get them to back off of the redirection charge. Why are the "logistics" companies so bad at the logistics?

Betty has been so restless and vocal this morning. I was just about to give in and dose her early. But as I turned the corner from the bathroom towards the kitchen, I saw the most beautiful sight: Betty pulled up to her plate. Back to the bathroom I went to hide until she’s had as much as she’s going to have. And however much she is going to have is enough for me today. 😿👍

I was going to give Betty a pass on this and not publicly shame her. But I may not remember this later. This is a good reminder of why I still medicate her twice daily even if I'm not totally sure she still needs it. (Spoiler: she does!)

Shortly after she nibbled at that lunch above, she wailed and gave it back. All five pieces of dry food were unchewed along with a little puddle of wet. I figured it was probably a reaction to her missed meds and thus likely dental pain. She probably tried to swallow all five of those and her tummy didn't appreciate that. No biggie. I Bissell'ed it up and let her decide when and if she was going to come back rather than pick up her plate and give her tummy rest. She did return, and she finished her remainder. No further doses have been missed since then. No further spits. And since I've converted my gray Garfield's lunch to a second breakfast, my little hobbit is doing a lot better at taking a first pass when she's still awake and coming back for the rest throughout the day. Hopefully we'll finally break out of the TILT weights this week. 🤞

The second pic is of another "Miss Betty and her side eye" FYI. The first, I'm sure you'll relate well to, unfortunately. Well, if you've ever read 1984, you'll know what doublespeak is, and that it reigns supreme in our present time and place.😑 I have the same low regard for these shippers as you do, along with another annagrammical one which, when I was in the music biz, the head cheese refused to use, even way back then, because it was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad. Customer service? HAH! Pride in one's work?
Good job, though, Grey Garfield! *Do we have a common suspicion that Second Breakfast is somehow much more attractive and tempting than First Breakfast?*:cool2:

It briefly touched 8.9 before it settled on the 8’s. 😲🤦🏼‍♂️ At least she’s consistent.

Betty is not a Swiftie.
:whiskers:

I was up late last night (later than usual anyway) watching the livestream of Taylor's last show in Vancouver last night. Betty hung around for her song ("betty" off of folklore.) I plated second dinner. But she wasn't interested in Eras Tour for the hundredth time ((I may have watched it a few times since it hit Disney+) and headed into the office for her first sleep of the night. I guess I missed her hunger or meds window. Because by the time she came back into the front room, she was no longer interested in second dinner. Somewhere between second dinner and my breakfast, she spit up a little. I think she probably ate the kibble layer in the early morning. And kibble without enough wet food often results in these little spits. She wasn't interested in second breakfast when I plated it either. So we may be in for another little spit later. 😿

Far from being disloyal, PURRhaps Betty is just bummed that it's come to an end. :angrycat:

Far from the first time that Betty left the room when I put on Eras Tour. 🤦‍♂️😾

She's an NWA/Tupac kitty. We watched Straight Outta Compton in bed one night. She would not leave her spot on my shoulder/chest and watched the whole movie with me. We watched the 2Pac movie too and she was only slightly less interested. 😸

I got my new patio furniture yesterday. That was probably a mistake to have that one redirected to the FedEx Office location. The box was so big that it wasn't going in the trunk. And I couldn't even wedge it into my backseat. I had to unpack it in the FedEx parking lot and pack its contents (and then the box because I'm not buying a new box if I have to send this back for any reason.) Thankfully I have a handcart at home and had the foresight to bring it with me to FedEx so it would be in the car when I had to unpack this. So the instructions say 50 minutes. Yeah right. It took me two hours to figure out and assemble the first chair. The second chair should go smoother. Actually, the bench should probably also go smoother now that I have a sense for this construction. And I have already made my mistakes on the first chair. This set looks like it will be a lot more weather-resistant than the last one.

Betty still hasn't eaten lunch. I saw her sniff and snub a couple of times. It wasn't just that she hasn't been awake for it. I got her to eat a couple of carpet morsels and calling that good enough. I don't want to feed her too many morsels and have that turn into a regurgitation. But a couple of morsels will probably hold off the spits even if she doesn't eat any more before dinner.

C'mon Betty girl! Eat! Eat! Eat! :hearthrob: :kneading: :hearthrob: :yess: *We all have our days, though*
I've seen probably just about all the Tupac movies. And I have just about all of his CDs. But Betty, you can't leave the room for Taylor. Taylor's a good, good girl. She's a CHILDLESS CAT LADY, and she votes with head and heart, and she's amazing. You just can't not love Taylor!
Yeah, good thinking to pack the hand truck. And keep the box. Because yeah, you never know. I've got a garage full of boxes from stuff. I once had to send a tower back, and also, once, a HD. So always be prepared.
You WILL post some pix of the furniture when it's all installed, won't you? *Inquiring minds want to know!* My neighbors gave me a patio set they were going to sell. No one has ever used it. Except for me, a couple of times.

Turns out I made the first chair wrong. The second chair went a lot smoother when I used the right parts in the right order. I had to go back and take apart the first chair. But I was too stubborn to take it fully apart. So I ended up stripping one of the allen screws trying to get something put back together. Anyway, the first chair has one wonky screw that's in tight enough, but not flush. The table ended up larger than I was expecting. And the bench I managed to get out the door after building it. The bench probably went together the easiest because by that point, I had already done two chairs--made my mistakes and learned from them. They all went out onto the deck well past sunset. With no deck light, I wasn't getting any pictures last night. Today just didn't feel like a deck day. Maybe tomorrow? I think this is more furniture than this deck needs. But I also think this furniture will hold up against the weather and my neglect. Figured I should buy any cheap made in China stuff on my wishlist while it's still cheap. And while I still have the money before the price everything goes up next year.

I don't have a garage. I don't keep big boxes any longer than I need to. But having had to send back a Sleep Number bed after I had already thrown out the box, that was an expense and a half getting custom boxes made at UPS. Having gotten everything assembled, I threw out the boxes last night. They were long flat numbers--not anything Betty would have liked.

Betty didn't eat any more lunch than the carpet morsels yesterday. But there was also no further spits. She rallied with meds and dinner. Second dinner was also a clean plate number. It's because she got her first pass in while I was brushing my teeth purr usual rather than avoiding yet another Taylor concert. She doesn't mind eating dinner to Star Trek or Buffy or whatever is playing in the interim between dinner and bedtime. It's possible that she has nothing against Taylor and just wants a quiet room to sleep in some nights. Today I had to run some errands over lunch. I plated second breakfast at 10. She went to the cave behind my desk and was sleeping there when I left for lunch; hers still untouched. When I got back two hours later, my lunch in hand, hers was in belly with a clean plate.

*YEAH* on the buying-the-furniture-now. Applies to everything applicable. One of my Poang chairs is like that, too, as the ex put one together "wrong" and left it that way. So have I. It doesn't affect the useability and it's not really a glaring eyesore. Anyway, with very little company, Fluff and I are okay with it.
Good on ya, Betty! *But srsly. Taylor is an ally. You SHOULD really reconsider.*
*Ouch* on the bed box debacle! I don't like to keep stuff, either, even with a garage and a LOT of storage space in the house. Sometimes I go through and jettison stuff I don't need. I did that last weekend with kitchen cupboards. Ancient dry goods needed to go, and with them, the bugs that love them.:sigh:

I think I'm going to do a purge of all kinds in January. I have Krista's Sharps disposal. I still have cans and treats from her "era". I have pet fountains I'm not using. Though I am glad that Betty has finally taken to the two that I have out for her. I have electronics from Cabbie's era (before Krista!) I have a bunch of books about dating and small talk and crap like that that no longer apply now that I know it's my wiring, not my know-how that's given me so much grief over the years. And I probably still have some food from the last time I did one of these between Krista and Betty. Also, I have some clothes to go through. I'm going through the very annoying process of trying to upgrade or replace my failing threads--t-shirts right now. Luckily, the Gap and American Giant made returns so easy! I think the others I ordered from (True Classic and Fresh Clean Threads) probably did too. But I haven't decided on my returns from them yet. I still haven't found a winner to buy a dozen or two from yet. I also haven't exhausted the online retailers yet. I'm apparently not even close to the only one who just wants to find a favorite shirt and buy a few dozen of it. I guess all us late dx'ed neuro-spicy are starting to figure our 💩 out now. 😸 And in the meantime, I've been buying up copies of my favorite (discontinued) run shirt on eBay (which is really a hiking base layer) because they are a comfortable shirt until I find the brand to stock up on. I look forward to the Star Trek days when we can "photocopy" our favorite garments and spit out a fresh new replicated copy.

Betty didn't touch dinner last night. No first pass. I was working late. But that's never stopped her before. I usually work until she's had her first pass. She came in just as I was signing off. I started towards the kitchen for my dinner and hers still remained on the plate. I couldn't even get carpet morsels into her. Not to fear, I busted open a can of Rawz rabbit and served a tiny portion. That cut through her fussies. Then just before I picked up her plate to change it out for second dinner, she returned and at a bit of her usual. So maybe 1/2 portion between the two foods and half remained. Just in case, I gave her a little more Rawz rabbit on the second dinner and she ate both that and her usual second dinner. So not sure what that was all about. She's already got breakfast and second breakfast in her belly and burrowed under the blankets for the afternoon. So jealous!

I'm purging files. So I guess 'tis the season to purge. I get lazy and think to myself: "I might need that receipt/message some time!" but enough is enough. I don't have to save stuff from 2008. Really, I don't.
Clothes, too. Yes, under layers! Longsleeved Ts that go under sweaters. One in each of several colors. Many are in tatters. But that's okay because no one sees them. I have a few things from high school, even, and college. Dating books? :insertevillaugh::sigh:😑*apply as necessary* Yeah, definitely in my circle of nope. I have a male cat. He has me. It's a match made in...well, not exactly sure, but it's a PAWSitive place.
Betty's doing better than Fluff. Turkey is not his favorite borb. Sometimes he puts the lie to that, but most of the time, a 5.5 oz carries over into a second day. Like today. 🥺:angrycat:
Waiting on Part II of my Pirate Ship box of goodies from lil BUB and Marbs.

Just in time for the most recent “weather.” 🤦🏼‍♂️
IMG_2617.jpeg
It’s all a little too big for a little too small of a deck. As you can see there is no legroom as it is set up. I may just move the chairs to the other side where the laundry closet is. Likely none of this will ever get used. But I used to get trash tossed into my deck when I didn’t have anything there. Those neighbors are probably long gone. Management didn’t do 💩 about it because I never could prove who did it. Anyway, possibly in the spring when I feel like keeping up with it, I may figure out how to hide my smart bird feeder under the bench and turn it into a smart squirrel feeder. I don’t know if that’s a good or bad idea.

Hey! I think this looks snappy! Can imagine you and Betty there in the Summer, drinking a Tom Collins & wearing shades! (Well minus the leaves of course).

There is no "minus the leaves". Landscapers come every Tuesday to replenish the supply of leaves. I may get a leaf blower of my own just to fight back. I wouldn't bring Betty out. I don't want to develop an outdoors habit/craving in her that I don't intend to keep up.

Right, no, I didn’t really think Betty would be outdoor/indoor. 😆 Just something very chill about the furniture! Only now I’m imagining you trying to sit there with leaves being constantly blown at you!! Yes definitely, a leaf blower! Or broom.
