Just my intuition that Betty is not old enough for loss of muscle mass weight loss. She is picky. But then, as you say, *cats.* Could be just about anything or nothing in particular. We all have our days, right? but I hope her appetite picks up. As well as Fluff did yesterday, today he's food-striking on his chicken. Why? He's loved it in the past. But the, he's also snubbed it in the past. He's spent some time in front of the screen door this morning. I had the door open even though it was in the 50sF because yeah, he deserves a little fresh air and surveillance time. But I had to close it later. He's also spent some time in the dining room, after sailing onto the table several times, on the comfy chair in there. I liked that! Everyone who loves cats knows they love pattern and routine. Right?Shoot! I thought I was doing her favor by pulling the covers back on her after my came back from my lunch run and asking her to eat half her lunch as carpet morsels. I thought she did a good job of that. I was feeling pretty good and was going to let her decide if and when she would finish the second half. Then I heard it. It sounded like a HORK! And sure enough, she gave back her lunch. No idea what that was. Maybe she wasn't ready for lunch yet. Maybe that single kibble already soured her tummy. She doesn't do well with dry before wet. Or maybe having to eat from the carpet instead of elevated off the book had acid coming back down her throat. Who knows! Cats, right? This one's on me. I put it at about 40% that she'll return to the plate before dinner. I wouldn't worry if she wasn't also starting to feel skinny again. Spine feels alright. But ribs and shoulders are starting to feel a bit more pronounced. She still looks alright, though. If I knew her age I might feel better about these ebbs and flows... I don't know if this seasonal or age-related or.... ?
