Hoping that things have improved in just this short time and that you'll very soon be winging your way safely and smoothly to BWB Land. *And if it is that late, maybe some extras. On both counts.* :agree:
Now 4:24. Still deplaning.

That sux. Hope they hurry up. A hungry cat is not a happy being to come home to.:angrycat:
Technically still deplaning. But it’s just the last of the wheelchair passengers who need to be slowly backed down the air ramps of Burbank. I think, I hope pre-boarding might begin in a few minutes. Looks like we’re getting a crew change and the new crew is boarding now. Shouldn’t be much longer. Oof! This looks like a full flight though. 🤦🏼‍♂️😿

And Betty isn’t the only hungry one. I thought I might get a chance for a snack but it was a leisurely pace but a return itinerary that didn’t leave room for meals. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Now pre-boarding. Haven’t updated the departure. I don’t think we’re going to pack it up and push off in 11 minutes. I’m guessing we’ll push off at 4:45. Or half a flight late.

Feeder finally looks clean.
And I finally caught a glimpse on the cameras. This is as good as it gets some days.

Finally on the plane. Expected to be a full flight. We’re not pushing off in a minute. I’m still projecting 4:45.

4:35. Pushing back. So wheels up in five after. Not that far off on my guesstimate

Landed at 5:45. So only about 20 minutes later than expected. Can’t wait to get home though. I’m done. Wish I had the mac n cheese for tonight that I ate last night. Oh well. My usual doesn’t take long to cook. That’s why it’s my usual.

Got home about 6:15. So about one hour later on clock time and two hours later than usual on Betty time. She doesn't know daylight saving time. Feeder was clean. Litterbox was dirty. And Betty was a little bit hungry. But she also gets meds before dinner and she knows that. So we did the meds dance and finally got them in her in the office. We did the post meds brush and fuss--our evening version of the cheek-to-cheek third sleep. Now I'm watching Sunday Night Football in the office while I wait out her meds and first pass on dinner. I'm hoping Betty will make up the hour with hunger and we can both get started on dinner (her first!) in the 8 pm hour vs. the 9 pm hour.

It was good to see the fam. But I'm happy to be back home with my fur fam.

Glad you made it home safe and sound, and not TOO late. As for Betty in the belly of the "beast" -- Sunday night, November 3rd, 2024 -- do you blame her? *Wishing I had someone like that to hide in, too!* Hope dinner was good for you both and that the meds dance was not long. Glad you enjoyed your visit, too.

Betty, Betty, Betty...

By 3 pm, she hadn't touched her lunch yet. But she was restless and chatty all afternoon. Finally, after finishing a fuss session with her, I walked her to her plate and got her to reluctantly eat a carpet morsel. Prime the tummy for eating and let her decide the when and how much. Sure enough, at 4 pm she finished her lunch in one go. Clean plate. 🤦‍♂️ 😹

I think she likes to be fussed over. 😽

Apparently Betty was sick to her stomach about the election results this morning as well. She ate most of her breakfast and then shortly after gave it back up on the carpet. It wasn't a regurgitation and it wasn't a hairball. There were sad mrrows. She did come back and finish her breakfast shortly after. I thought that would mean she'd be hungry for lunch. But that hasn't proved out yet.

Okay, you all. I hope you watched Vice President Harris' speech at Howard University starting around 1:15 PST today. It was of course on CNN and MSNBC. If you didn't, hopefully you will find it on YouTube and/or socials/other media. I encourage you to watch it. You will definitely derive benefit from her message. We need time to grieve. But we also need to be steadfast in our resolve. It will undoubtedly be a dark time but we can't let that stop us going forward.
A thought that has given me courage through these times: "I believe in the sun even when it is not shining. I believe in god even when He is silent." That was scratched on a wall in Auschwitz. If it feels disturbingly like 1933 right now, remember: though many did not survive, many also DID survive and we are now looking at history. We do not know what the future will bring. But we must remain strong in our will and hold to our moral compass.

This has been my Facebook cover photo since the RNC in 2016 when it was apparent there was no stopping the Trump train. (Even though I stopped using Facebook in 2016 or 2017.)

I was really hoping I could take it down this year. But we’re not yet ready to turn that page.

If Trump does step down after four years, Vance is so obnoxious that even Hillary could probably beat him. But let’s not go there again. Harris didn’t even win the popular vote. I hope she’ll step aside for someone who can. Even being gay (e.g. even with the bigots in this country), I think Mayor/Secretary Pete could become President Pete if given the chance again.

IMHO there's never a need to take that down as it is eternally true and eternally inspirational. *And I don't recall when I was forced off fb.*
As for your thoughts/observations in the second para, I share them. Of course. Although I'm not entirely sure that a majority, let alone the electors, would let Pete Buttigieg take that office, based upon what just happened here. I'd like to think so. But...

Betty had a milkshake spit this afternoon. It wasn't hair and it wasn't regurgitation. It didn't look like food. It was thick like a chocolate milkshake. I mean it may have been leftover food that couldn't get past a hairball that didn't come up. I went running for the first time in a few weeks. Just as I was walking through the door, Betty was giving her lunch a sniff and snub. As I'm taking my shoes off, I see her sitting there doing the lip lick thing. I know from Krista what that means and when a barf is imminent vs just a "are you hungry, thirsty, nauseous, or nervous?" Sure enough, she took a couple of steps and positioned herself over the area rug. No! Not there! I rushed over, picked her up, and put her back down about two feet away where she could spit on carpet that I can clean. The area rug is probably machine washable. But I just stuck it to the pad and so far it's been holding. Betty spit once on the carpet in the front room then took her second spit into the office. Both very Bissell-able spots. She returned later and swiped about 1/3 of lunch. By dinner she was hungry again and the plate is clean. I'm just waiting for one last result to come in from work so that maybe I can sign off with a win and a mostly accomplished "later list." Boom! PASSED! Time to slide down my dinosaur 🦕 and drive my foot car the 20 steps into the kitchen. Cat, don't put me out tonight! 😹
