No bouncing doses this morning.
😾👍

We’re at the vet. She just weighed in at 9.7. Our scales agree for once. She may come home even lighter than that with all the stress shedding she is doing. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Waiting for the doc now. Betty serenaded me on the way to the car. She was remarkably quiet on the drive. And then she started singing again at the vets office. She was just starting to settle down before another singing cat walked through the door.

“Betty, this isn’t a contest. Or a concert.” 😹

We’re away in a private room now waiting on the doc.

Doc was surprised that it had been a year since she saw Betty. I’m glad I did a doc appointment and not a tech appointment. Doc recommended with Betty’s history and “out of an abundance of caution” that we go with the one year vaccine this time. If Betty handles it okay this year, we can consider the three year vaccine next year.

She’s also getting a blood draw and a mani/pedi.

Doc says 9.5 lbs is probably purrfect for her. But since we don’t really know how old she is, a little insurance weight isn’t a bad idea. 9.6-9.7 is okay. I will be trying to trim the mix a little to keep her right about here or maybe get her back to 9.6.

She’s been a morning pooper lately and hasn’t pooped yet today. That I know of. She may be pooping on the vet table as we speak. 😾💩 Wouldn’t be the first time. 🤦🏼‍♂️

That's good news about Betty's being in the PURRfect weight range! A little this way or that won't be a problem, then, it seems. Good about the mani/pedi, too (Elvis is scared of the claw scissors so I have to catch him at the right time to get one, maybe two, rarely more, at a time).

The mad pooper struck again!
😾💩

This time in her carrier. The vet tech thought they got it all. But I found another poop berry in the side fold-out. Poor Betty had to ride home with that hitchhiker the whole way. Not only that, but it seems like she may have also peed herself. This is why I don't want her taking Solensia. I don't want her pooping and peeing herself every month. Doc seems to think she can wait because she still has good range of motion, didn't protest when the doc put her through the range of motion tests, and she still makes the jumps she wants to make.

I came home and gave Betty space to groom herself while I gave her carrier a brief once-over-soak with enzyme cleaner before sticking it in the shower to deal with it later. Then I changed out her breakfast for lunch. I gave Betty a couple of passes with pet wipes, gave and received a few good face brushes and heat butts (her love language), and then I made myself scarce. I know from my experience with Krista that no matter how much I think I could help her with towels and pet wipes, cats insist on doing it themselves. So I left for the store to do the grocery shopping I skipped this weekend preparing for (Rubio's Family Shrimp Taco Plate) and then watching an afternoon of football. When I came back an hour later, she was looking much drier and fluffier and half her lunch was already gone. I sat with her for a few minutes while my lunch bagel cooked. While I was cream cheesing it, she halved her half by half. And when it was time for me to sign back on, she was ready for an afternoon office cave nap.

Well, that nap didn't last long. She's back out in the front room to finish lunch. I guess the "feel bad" from her shot probably won't kick in until later or tomorrow like it does for me. Poor girl. I'm thinking how my arm gets sore from vaccines and how she's going to be feeling that in her hip tomorrow. 😿

Hopefully it won't be as bad as you exrapolate. And hopefully Betty's appetite will continue to be enthusiastic. *As, no doubt, will yours*

She ate well throughout the rest of the day and night. 🐷🐾

No bouncing doses this morning.

She may be feeling the soreness this morning. After her dose, she jumped into bed and tried to lay on me for third sleep like she does every morning. Except this morning, she couldn’t get comfortable. She squirmed and fidgeted for a bit. Then she gave me a farewell face brush and headed back for the office. Fair enough. Perhaps the radiator is on or coming on soon.

Sleep well little one. We’ll catch up later.

Well, mixed messages from Ms. Betty. Good that she ate well, and hopefully she feels well, too, if not now, then very soon!

She’s not feeling well. She came out for her breakfast treat. Looked at her food plate and turned around. She went back into the office to curl up next to the radiator. She’s had her taproom treats (two kibbles and a Greenie), her breakfast treat (a Greenie dental treat), and none of her wet food yet. 🤦🏼‍♂️😿 She’d rather hug the radiator this morning than sit in my lap. I kinda wouldn’t mind hugging the radiator. It was a 7am meeting morning. It’s a landscaper’s day too. I may work the afternoon at the taproom and let her sort it out for herself today.

Yay! She’s finally eating something more than treats.

At shift change, I found her sitting on the floor behind the chair.

“How long you been there?”

I had to pee. So I left her there after a couple of pets and pats.

And it was then that she decided to visit her breakfast.

She’s still at it and I’m still hiding in the bathroom. I feel confident that she’s at least skimming the kibble layer off her breakfast. And if she eats just that much, she will still get her hemp oil. That should help her with the soreness. And also shore up her appetite.

Progress, however incremental, is always good. Hoping some R&R in the warmz helps. :hearthrob: :kneading::hearthrob:

You know how some people write the wrong date on their checks at the start of a new year? My vet wrote me an expired prescription for Betty's ondansetron. 🤦‍♂️ I mean it was good yesterday. But that's it. I brought in today and the vet will sign a new one tomorrow. Thankfully I'm not near the end of that one yet. Not nearly as low as our hemp oil which is supposed to arrive Thursday. I've been having to look for alternate droppers because the one they included cannot reach that last mL or so in the bottle. 🤦‍♂️

Betty's feeling better. I spent the afternoon at the taproom after running down the expired prescription to the vet office. When I came back, "if you're feeling off, I'm not seeing it on the plates." Lunch was clean. Just in case she was feeling off, I sweetened the A/D mix a little. Really, I kept the A/D amount the same and left a couple grams of I/D off her last couple of plates. Richer ratio. Fewer calories. She was just polishing the plate when I walked in the door. As I made it into the office, she flopped on her side and stretched into my spotted Betty Banana. I gave her rubs and she chirped at me each time I tried to end it. "I have to get back to work!" 😾

Hopefully that means she'll spend time with me in the chair tonight after work and before bed. And third sleep. I kinda like that we sleep in separate rooms overnight. But I do enjoy our third sleep snuggles.

It's very unsettling, to me at least, the amount of mistakes/omissions/etc. businesses, especially those in which we place important stuff like our lives and the lives of our loved ones, make these days. I'm just dealing with one of those, too. :sigh::sniffle: Hope you find that alternate dropper you need!
You're lucky you can sleep Without Cat. I have a very hard time of doing that. But hope you do get your Third Sleep Snuggles:hearthrob::catlove::hearthrob:

It was awful sleeping without a cat after Krista passed. But it's comforting enough for me to know my nom goblin is around--and gobblin her noms--without having to fight her for space. She's an aggressive spooner and will sleep on my head if I don't have another space for her. So for all those nocturnal shenanigans, I'm okay if we sleep in different rooms and meet up for third sleep. She will frequently come see me at least once in the middle of the night. That I know of... 😹

Elvis cruises and visits multiple times a night and of course, as most all cats do, he times things by the sun or lack thereof, and visits near sunup to remind me that breakfast time is not far off. He also sleeps on my pillow, which I love, except when he stomps on my hair. *That hoits!*:sniffle:

I sleep better in a colder room. Betty prefers a warmer room. For her, I have the office radiator come on for a few hours at night. Because we had a freakishly warm day yesterday before the atmospheric river comes through, the front room got fairly warm last night. I had to roll her off me quite early at bedtime and turn the fan on. She took her leave and disappeared into the office. Save for some nocturnal nom gobblin' from my nom goblin, I didn't see her again until meds time. She took her morning dose like a champ. The vet was surprised that she keeps taking the liquid dose like a champ. I mean she's understandably not happy about it (Betty, not the vet.) But she doesn't drool and cough and all the other dramatics the vet says other cat guardians report with the liquid. We had a good third sleep snuggle (Betty, not the vet), and she's already done with breakfast. Richer mix for less food seems to be working quite well. Let's see what it looks like on the scale on Sunday.

We had a power outage at home last night during work hours. I got to use my mobile router again before all that data I prepaid for disappears in two weeks. Now the office is having an outage while I'm comfortably home and dry. Reminds me of the Dilbert shirt, "The Network is Down. But I'm Feeling Better."

I love Dilbert. And of course, especially CATbert. A winning team.
Yeah, I do too. IDK if that's why Elvis prowls during the night. He'll come in and get on the pillow, then stick his nose under the covers and paw at them for me to make an entry for him. Sometimes, after a lot of fidgeting, he'll lay down and purr for awhile. But he always gets up and leaves. Often he'll be on the very end of the bed in the morning, just sitting, facing the door.
Not wanting to jinx the success, but...;):yess:

Betty's blood and urine results came back. Everything looks "great", "good", "normal", "normal", and "healthy."

Prescription fixed and dropped off at Walgreens.

Power slowly coming back up at office.

If you're anything like me, you get rained on. It rains $%!^, and then after that, it rains good stuff. Or in your case and Betty's, "great," "good," "normal," "normal," and "healthy."
And yeah, it's good to have power. ;) :yess: :goldstar:

Gah! This morning she had another barf. I cannot decide whether this counts as a regurgitation or a food vomit. On the one hand, it started pouring right out of her as soon as she decided that was happening before/while she was heaving and hacking. On the other hand, it had been almost an hour since she ate. No hair in her food. Just mostly liquid and some food chunks. In any case, I picked up her breakfast plate and won't be plating another until sometime after lunch to give her tummy time to rest. I'm sad this is coming so soon after the last time. That was last Tuesday. The only common thread I can see between them is that she once again delayed her first pass on breakfast until almost an hour later than usual. Okay Betty. That was your February barf. Vet says you're okay if it's just once a month.
