The best for Betty, also at the best price. Hoping this will work for her! and be approved by her care team.
Her regular vet, not the specialist, is pushing Solensia, then Adequan when I balked at the cost and monthly vet trips. And when I said I need to think on that one too, she's pushing Dasequin, a prescription-only supplement. 🤦‍♂️ I understand that vets only have so much time to keep up with everything, everywhere, all at once. But I wish she would propose a few more affordable options. We're trying Cosequin first because that's what I already have. We might move to Dasequin if it seems to be helping and I can get back on track with all my expenses (dentals and taxes.)

Veterinarians, like human-specific doctors, have their own bottom line as their top priority, for the most part. Whether others agree or not, them's the facts. Really hoping an affordable and effective option is the one for Betty.

I don't know how to get Google Photos to make more of these animations out of my videos. But I'll take this one!

YES! WE WANT MORE BETTY!
That's definitely a keeper! Worth at least one package of Everything Bagels. *IF I was sharing, that is.*:insertevillaugh:

10.96. Last week was 11.0. Within a poop’s margin of error. But at least we’re not going the other direction. I can probably take a smidge more A/D off her tweener meals (lunch and overnight) as A/D is more to get her to eat something with her meds.

Next week we start on the proper loading dose of Cosequin—two treats a day. I wanted to start her on one for a few days because I learned the Greeenies lesson well. Perhaps the week after I will try new foods with her. One change at a time here.

Definitely sounds like a good plan. Hope it is 100% successful on all levels.
Yes, this is a good UPdate for Betty!
Are you still doing the taproom/burger Sundays? If so, wishing you a good one if it's open. And if not, wishing you a good Sunday however you spend it.

Got Betty’s gabapentin refilled at 35 mg strength. I’ve been splitting her old 25 mg strength myself to get half doses and giving her 37.5 mg (approximately) because she seemed to need an increased amount after her dental work. I have not been wanting to test her on a lower strength since. But splitting her pills for half doses meant I have been using her pills 50% faster than prescribed. I got them refilled at 35 this time and hopefully she won’t notice or miss the 2.5 mg difference. She took her first 35 mg pill tonight and so far so good. Dinner is already in the books and she’s just waiting for second dinner before bedtime.

So far I’m not seeing any reduction in appetite since reducing her from every day to every other day poobiotics (the poop pill from AB.) And reducing her gabapentin capsules by half should mean less A/D at meds time. She also seems to be doing well on the two Cosequin a day loading dose. I don’t know if I notice an improvement in her joints yet. But I don’t see any worsening of stool quality like I did with Krista. (To put that politely.) 💩👍 She seems to like them. I look forward to seeing her quality of movement improve. 🤞

Doh! Her big butt exploded the flower cart. 🍑🤦🏼‍♂️😿 It was her step down from the chair. I still have the woody that was there before that became her bridge to the corner cloud she never uses anymore. I’ll replace that bridge later.

Her yacht is falling apart too. It’s a good thing she never took to riding topside. Because this looks like it would explode if she sat on top. She’ll be getting new cat furniture soon.

Poop!

Betty just had a little spit up. A regurgitation. It looked almost exactly the same as it did on the plate. Just a few inches displaced. 🤦‍♂️
She probably just ate a little too much or a little too fast.

Anyway, bubble butt can stand to skip a meal 🐷 as long as she doesn't make a pattern of this.
