This may be Betty's version of Elvis' using my left wrist/arm as a chin rest. I'm glad it's the left, because if it was the right, I wouldn't be able to get anything done.Like this silliness!

She just decided to lay down on my hand. I’m not sure what she’s getting out of it. My fingers don’t curl back far enough for scritches. And anyway, the hand is losing circulation. I think she just wants to prevent me from going back to work.![]()
I’m not opposed to giving Solensia to her. But she’s only six. I don’t think either one of us want to be doing monthly vet visits for the next eight, ten years, or hopefully longer. This may be Betty's version of Elvis' using my left wrist/arm as a chin rest. Yeah, natural is best if possible.
I think so too, on all of the above. What's the yellow-green cylindrical textured thing?I’m not opposed to giving Solensia to her. But she’s only six. I don’t think either one of us want to be doing monthly vet visits for the next eight, ten years, or hopefully longer.I’d like to try alternatives first. Especially because I spent so much money on her mouth last month that I had to put my own mouth off a month and then I have taxes and it just never ends. I need to trim subscriptions. Not add new ones. There are also other things we can do for her joints besides the shots and nutraceuticals like getting her on a better food, losing some weight, getting her more active, and I know she would love a heat pad. She enjoys the radiators. Both of them.

Oh that's something to roll your muscle knots over if you want to feel a pain like none other.I think so too, on all of the above. What's the yellow-green cylindrical textured thing?
*Ya think???*Oh that's something to roll your muscle knots over if you want to feel a pain like none other.I suppose it wouldn't be so painful if there weren't knots to roll out.

I’m old enough to remember actual human telephone operators who could help you find a phone number. They were always NICE, and you could chat about the weather, their lives, etc. The impersonalization (and ineptitude) caused by technology has been astonishing. Chat boxes seem designed know as little as possible. At least with Apple, who kinda started all this, you get excellent hold music.*Ya think???*
AI follies, part ???: My phone provider texts me, saying my invoice has been returned. I go on the site. I'm not in arrears, and my bill was autopaid a couple of days ago. The chatbot can't handle my request to correct this, so I have to deal with the dreaded phone call. I get the same sweet airhead I think I've gotten before when I've had to call about OTHER texts they've sent in error. LONNNNNNNNNNG time later, she says she's corrected it and will text me to confirm.
WHAT do you think the text says?
RIGHT.![]()
Me too. I still get some very good customer service humans from time to time, who are professional, courteous, AND personable.I’m old enough to remember actual human telephone operators who could help you find a phone number. OR, she's just settling into her own new normal post-teeth-issues. Cats ARE very sensitive, you know *making them excellent companions for non-NT people.*Betty left half of breakfast again. What's up, girl?
She heard the sink running at lunch while I washed her breakfast plates (and mine) and got her lunch ready. Well that woke her from her poof nap (like I hoped) and I got her to take an extra gabapentin both for possible pain and also just extra chill for later. I will definitely be discussing her recent fussiness lately. I will also be discussing her gabapentin dose and dosing schedule. The prescription says to give every 8 to 12 hours. I have been giving it every 12. Perhaps I should simply get her on an every 8. That would mean she gets a 5am, noon, and 9 pm dose. This also makes it that much harder for me to leave her with a sitter. I'm starting to think I'll never be able to travel again because she will be too inconvenient or expensive for a sitter. That or she's going to have to learn to travel with me. I was really hoping the dental would solve her eating issues. But it seems they got a little worse.
There's one other possibility. Maybe there's something about these cases she doesn't like. These came from one VCA. I have been waiting for today's appointment to pick up new cases from the other VCA. I can't tell the difference though. These look about as good as every other I've been serving her.
I'm in the limbo where I've essentially signed off of work for the day, but it's still too soon for me to get ready for the vet. I'm letting Betty snooze as long as she can before she starts to get suspicious of my getting ready activities.
Ugh! I was showering up and getting ready to collect Betty. There's a missed call and a voicemail. Don't even....OR, she's just settling into her own new normal post-teeth-issues. Cats ARE very sensitive, you know *making them excellent companions for non-NT people.*Hoping the food is all okay.
When will you be able to have these discussions? Today?
Just got home from my dental (cleaning). Elvis is glad. I am glad. The hygienist is good, and very chatty. The office personnel are like $%!^house rats. Always glad to get away from them!
OH ____!Well shoot! I was just thinking I should pick up her plate and she beat me to it. So lunch is in the books. I think we simply need to revisit her gabapentin and I don’t know. Do we schedule a dentist consult now? I can’t afford that so soon after her recent dental and I got word back from my insurance that my own crown procedure is not going to be covered. I don’t know if it’s a deductible issue or what. I know my dentist is out of network. But last I checked, the benefits weren’t that much different between in network and out of network. Dental insurance just sucks. It doesn’t cover enough and it seems like they haven’t updated their price charts in decades. I don’t think my dental coverage has meaningfully changed since I first had it 20 some years ago.
Maybe you'll be pleasantly surprised. It does happen sometimes. Still.Ugh! Better their cat than mine. But still. She’s paying for it. Dr found yet another tooth that needed to be extracted in her prior appointment and will be available only to look at Betty’s extraction sites and touch bases with me later. So I’ll probably get none of my questions answered today.
My passport expired during Covid and they weren't doing renewals for a long time.I went w/ someone to Los Algodones Mexico once. Dental there is great, incredibly cheap, and there are so many gringos going there they don’t even really seem to care about your passport! Great painkillers, a central place where you can rest and drink margaritas & eat soft food or even stay the night. It’s either that or floss a lot, b/c who can afford dental? I don’t know about cheap pet sitters…maybe Betty would like a tiny mariachi hat!
