Lunch was served and Betty nearly demolished it in one go. Probably another 30+ grams first pass. This seems to confirm what I had suspected all along. That there may be some dental pain behind her nibbling. Her appetite isn’t this perky on Cerenia. So it must be the gabapentin taking away the nerve pain. Her IM doc sent us home with gabapentin once to test this. But it’s the liquid form and I remember how much Krista hated the liquid gabapentin. Instant foaming at the mouth. Never tried the liquid with Betty.
I can’t give gabapentin to Betty on a regular basis. She’s a loopy mess. But hopefully the dental will turn up the culprit and correct it (extract it.)
In the meantime, I don’t need to worry about her making calories today.
I only have to worry about whether she can get on or off the bed alright.
