Hello ☺

I am considering adopting a kitten to be a playmate for my very playful 6/7 month year old, Tommy. He is extremely social and friendly, getting along with every cat that allows him to! I put this down to him being once upon a time feral and living in a colony - I socialised him after I spotted him in my courtyard, a skinny little thing when he was around 2 months old. Now he is a gorgeous lovebug who can't get enough pats and attention.

We also have a cat who is around 5 years old (she was a stray so her age is also more of a rough guess) and whilst she gets along amazingly with Tommy and does play with him, I can tell at times he irritates her and she has to hiss at him to leave her alone. She also goes outside (going to move shortly and will have a cat run for her then) and Tommy can get quite lonely, especially if we need to leave the house. Luckily we work from home so it's rare he is alone for too long, but I can tell at night he would greatly appreciate some company, as nights are hard for all of us with his whining (trying to train him out of it atm).

Anyway, my question and my concern is about Maggie my 5 year old, as I worry she will feel kicked out with another new kitten (though she is definitely in charge and Tommy happily allows that). Will another kitten just add to her annoyance? Or do you think (like I hope) that another kitten will play with Tommy, allowing her some space and the ability to play when she wants to?

Thanks for the help as I really want to do what's best by the both of my kitties!
