So our 1st kitten we've had for 3 days now and hes 12 weeks old. The 2nd kitten we got tonight is only 8 weeks old. We've put the new kitten in my daughters room with litter tray, food/water. We did let them smell each other while she was in the crate and there was no hissing or anything. The older one had a good sniff then went back to his cat tree. How best to start introductions properly and when? Ive read through different bits but couldnt find anything similar with their young ages and the 1st kitten not having been in the house long himself.
Thanks

Hi! Have they both been to the vet and checked out?

After that, as far as I know you can let them out :) Just keep an eye on things and be sure that they both get as much as they want to eat, in several small wet meals throughout the day (their tummies aren't big enough yet to hold a lot of food) along with a little kibble to carry them overnight.

Oh by the way, museum putty can come in handy in the future to keep breakables battened down.

Its impossible to screw up kitten + kitten, they will become friends within a week, or much faster, however you introduce them.

Its a pretty good idea to keep a kitten new to your home in a safe room for a couple of days though. That way if they do get scared, thats where they run and hide, and not under the stove or somewhere else similarly problematic. Its like in 100,000, but some poor sods have ended up a terrified kitten in the walls, so good reason not to skip the safe room concept. Keep em in the safe room until they seem to like you or at least not be terrified. But after that, I agree its fine to just put them together.

Just make sure that they are both healthy (vet check), and let them have at it. There will be chasing, and rolling, and tumbling and a certain amount of squawling, all of which is perfectly normal, and nothing to be concerned over. There will also shortly be mutual grooming and napping together. After the safe room couple of days, that is.

Yes they both been vet checked the day before they were collected and we have the paperwork confirming they were seen and in good health. We dont have a name for the new little one yet but the slightly older one is called Tinga.
Well the new one was desperate to get out the bedroom so we took thrm both downstairs and theyve been playing non stop ever since. They both instigate chasing and play. Tinga is slightly bigger and when he rolls her she sometimes lays on her back and hisses a bit at him but then they get back up and go straight back to play. Its such fun to watch them chase, pounce and play. Im assuming they will eventually crash out somewhere??
