Hi, I posted a thread and someone sent me a pornographic message. I would prefer not to receive private messages. I searched the preferences but could not find how to disable this feature. How do I disable private messages or at the very least limit who can message me?

Contact the mods with the details about the PM so they can have a talk with the offender.

I meant it was a conversation someone started, not on the forums. Well, I just checked so I could flag it and it appears the creep removed it since I posted this.

I just got one too. It could’ve been that my teenage boy cat has been logging on with my account looking for “ Kitty Po....”. Who knows? Found some “Cat Fancy” magazines under his cat tree the other day!!(Just kidding, Omapaw would never do such a thing. He’s neutered)

If you go to privacy settings you can select who you want to allow to start a conversation with you. There is 3 options.

If you don't wish to receive any PM messages from TCS members, go to the Privacy section of your account (quick link --> https://thecatsite.com/account/privacy). Where it says "Allow users to .... Start conversations with you" choose the Nobody option from the list. The mods and site owner can still send you a PM but you can be sure that they won't be sending you any Spam or junk and they'll only contact you if you request it or for some board related reason.
OMG, so did I, in my PM’s! Informed the mods. I’m glad to know I’m not the sole recipient, lol.

I think that happened because the moderators banned, or were in the process of banning, that account, just as you were flagging it.
