why not go for a walk and get a cup of coffee or something somewhere? You can sit outside and maybe you can meet some people to talk with or you could read your book.👍💝

Are there any local classes or groups (that are physically-challenged friendly) that you can take that might peak your interest? A book club, an art class, a choir, fishing group, a quilting/knitting circle, bowling, Aquafit, mini golf, cosplaying etc? Or volunteering activities that help out the community? What about special weekend events, like farmer's markets or performances? When you feel better of course after your ER visit :redheartpump: If you are homebound for a little while, you can join some Facebook groups that have similar interests or consider taking online classes to keep your mind engaged and stimulated.

I'm pretty introverted myself, but there are definitely ways to connect with people or enjoy various things without directly dealing with large crowds.

Or maybe you and your husband can plan dates nights in the future, starting once a month - Something to look forward to, that is interesting and out of routine and that the two of you can do together. Visit a museum, a zoo, see a movie or have a nice dinner at home and so forth.

In any case, hang in there :hugs: You are never alone when you have all of us on TCS!

I lost some weight a few years back. Here's a few things that helped me.

- drink more water!!!! If you get a lot of calories from pop/coffees/juices/milk/idk what you drink, try to swap out more water. I put one less spoonful of sugar in my coffee and mostly drink water and flavored water otherwise. This was the biggest thing that helped, I think, saving things like milk and lemonade for special occasions rather than multiple times a say.

-I would tend to snack by just pulling out a whole box of triscuits and cheese dip for example, so I started putting what I'd want for a snack in a separate bowl so I didn't end up mindlessly eating.

-Honestly, weightlifting and building muscle really helped a lot because the more muscle you have the more calories you burn, but I know you're disabled, so I'm not sure how possible that is for you.

-I also tried to swap out things for healthier options - white bread to whole grain bread, margarine to butter. The calories weren't necessarily less, but I was getting more nutrition for what I was eating.

I'll try and see if I can think of anything else.

It might be helpful to start a food diary. Write down everything you eat, and when you eat it. It can be astonishing to see just what you are consuming. Breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner.

Soda may taste nice but they are empty calories, each is usually 160 of them. Water with a slice / squeeze of lemon is refreshing. Slice cucumber in a jug of water and refrigerate, then enjoy when you are thirsty.

When you find yourself going into the kitchen reaching for something to eat "just because" instead go for a walk around the kitchen table.

It will take a while to develop these new habits but remember slow and steady wins the race. Every journey begins with a single step.

Hi
Cut back on the juice as well it has too much sugar for your purposes now, and find a couple cans, soup or whatever that you can use to begin lifting for strength :)

You can also use a no cal sugar substitute in your tea. Splenda doesn’t have an aftertaste and tastes very close to sugar.

~ I would tell husband "Me or the homeless boy". Hopefully you have family or a close friend you can stay with temporarily.
Be very careful of wandering strangers. Many homeless are immature and irresponsible. They live this lifestyle by choice. They resist any rules or schedules and prefer the vagabond life instead of staying with relatives, a roommate or working. It is not your responsibility to care for these individuals.
Good luck . It sounds like you will need it ...
💞🙏
