My little girl had intestinal lymphoma. My suggestion is to get pet insurance ASAP. It will reimburse you for expenses.
There is no magic cure but the first step is the biopsy. Once she is diagnosed, they can begin treatments. Our specialist said that they have seen cats go years with treatment. Bebe made it a year before she developed a different cancer in her lungs.

Unfortunately pet insurance doesnt cover preexisting.

The gurgling sounds might be ok it happens before and after food but can also be due to malabsorption. but it could also be from the IBD or lymphoma. Check out the facebook pages feline lymphoma worldwide and IBDKitties

Yes, Tricia, as Cataholic said, I did already look into pet insurance when she initially had problems, and they don't cover pre-exisitng. There is also a waiting period. Thank you for the information. I'm sorry your lost your baby.
Thanks, Cataholic. It ended up calming down and no vomit instances. However she is acting like she doesn't want to eat this morning, so I gave her a Mirtazapine in a pill pocket (surprisingly she fell for it), so hopefully that will help.

I did sign up for pet insurance but a couple of vomiting visits in their 18 month lookback period for pre-existing conditions and they have denied every claim I have submitted so far. There's a 10 day stay, the kind of thing I was keeping it for, earlier this year that I'm still awaiting judgement. If they don't start paying for something soon, I'm going to stop wasting my premium on them.

Good news! The mertazapine must have helped because Winnie ate her food. I also heard from the vet and he is okay with doinf the B12 shots. He said he recommends every 5-7 days, and is going to give me 6 shots. I have never done them before so I think I'll make an appointment and bring her in, have that done and that way they can show me. And I can either try to do the others myself, or the vet said they can administer them. So I am not sure if the vet tech didn't pass on my desire to try them when I inquired previously..

My vet sold me a bottle, syringes, and Sharps disposal so that I could do them at home. They showed me how to do it in a tech visit but I had already watched the YouTube video a few times. I think I managed to give 4 of them myself. Then she got perky enough from the B-12 treatment to make it too difficult to do myself anymore. Because I have my own bottle of B-12, the vet says as long I bring my bottle in, they won't charge me to have a tech do it. Maybe ask your vet if they can make a similar arrangement for you.

Thank you! Yeah I have never done shots before but I'll see how the visit goes and review videos as well. Winnie is still pretty good at fighting if I need to orally give a pill so I am not sure that I'll feel comfortable doing it myself but we'll see. And that's a good idea about checking to see if a similar arrangement is possible.

I gave Winnie some slippery elm bark with a meal last night and she ate it up! We'll see if I have the same luck tonight.

Winnie doesn't want to eat this morning.. luckily she has a vet appointment in a few hours for the B12, so if she still isn't eating, hopefully they can give her an injection of Cerenia which usually helps. I'd rather not give her the Mirtazapine as that seems to make her more restless.

She has been eating the Slippery Elm Bark when I give that with dinner, though.

Winnie had her first B12 shot, and the tech showed me how to do it and it wasn't so bad. We'll see if I change my mind when I have to do it at home next week. ;)
She decided to eat when she got home. The vet only wants to administer or have her take Cerenia when she has vomited, which she didn't. So here's hoping the B12 shots help!:crossfingers:

I was inspired by this to give Krista her B-12 just now. I'd put it off too long. She got too squirmy the last time I did these and I'm not taking her down to the vet's just for this. I was going to hire someone to do a house call but I haven't done that yet. Meanwhile she has been mopey and not eating the last couple of days and B-12 could absolutely perk up her attitude and appetite. So I decided to get over the last couple stressful struggles we had with this. She didn't suspect it because we haven't done it in so long. Even the needle went in without protest. It wasn't until I pushed the plunger that she let out a squeak. I pulled the syringe out, rubbed the site, and put fish flakes in her face all in the same moment before she could register a proper complaint. I can't say it's helped yet. She's still not eating. But it can't hurt either.

As a nurse I can tell you the first injection you give by yourself is definitely the worst. You will gain confidence as you go. I was shaking so badly with my first, I had to appraoch the patient from behind! Then as a school nurse with diabetic students I ended up giving ten injections a day!

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the B12 helps. You are a great cat momma!
Thank you so much! I'm trying! :)

Just wanted to provide an update. I gave Winnie the first B12 shot by myself at home. When I first poked her, she moved foreard, so I had to repoke her, and that time I was able to inject it. She was a trooper, so she got a couple treats. This is only her second dose. Hopefully they will help..I am assuming it will take a few treatments to see if there is a noticeable difference.
Othereise, no new vomit and her stomach seems to have quieted down more, so that's a good thing!

No new incidents and a settled stomach? I’d say B-12 is already helping. How’s her appetite?

She is usually pretty hungry most of the time. Of course a few hours after I posted this, she was acting like her stomach was bothering her (licking her lips and not eating), but she did end up eating a couple hours after that.

Are you weighing her weekly? Has her weight stabilized (or increasing)?
