I haven't been very good at updating, sorry about that.
I got a little scared because she lost 8 gr two days in a row, and got diarrhea again. But now she's gaining steadily.
Here are the weights :

07/18 : 665 gr
07/19 : 657 gr (-8)
07/20 : 649 gr (-8)
07/21 : 675 gr (+26) Great poops!!
07/22 : 688 gr (+13)
07/23 : 716 gr (+28)

She was estimated to be 4 weeks when I got her (June 28). So she's almost 8 weeks now. Am I right to think that she's underweight? Shouldn't she be around 800 gr?

Her poops are still awesome! She's eating well, although she prefers her kibbles mixed with wet. I'm increasing the ratio dry/wet little by little, and she's eating it well.

The only problem I have is litter box upstairs. Downstairs, no problems, she's using them (I have 3). I only have one upstairs, and she's pooping in it, but she's peeing on the bed. I have an extra box, I'm going to clean it and see if she's one of those cats that like to have 2 boxes to do their business...

She's not on anything! And yes, it's only upstairs. I have two boxes there right now.

At 8 weeks she would ideally be closer to 900 grams (2 pounds/32 ounces), but she is gaining well and sounds healthy.

Plus, she has been through quite a bit with her illness, so I think she's doing terrific, and you should not worry. :)

Thanks! She's going to be 8 weeks on July 27, which is kind of cool because that's my birthday!
I asked for a giant cat tree... They're going to love it!

She's adorable! I'm still amazed that she pulled through.

Has Alois got any information on Alyssa's litter? They would be about 6 weeks old now.

I love tabbys ! You can see the M on her forehead quite clearly in some photos . That one of her sleeping so cute - is shadow like her step mum ?

No, she sees Alyssa from time to time, but she's still refusing access to see the kittens. There's nothing I can do about it, it's upsetting.

Maybe. She was the first to warm up to Leyia, and the first to play with her. Now Moby & Medley play with her too. They all let her play with their tail, it's really cute.

Is Alyssa withholding information about the kittens as well?

Has she said if they are all still alive?

It is very strange behavior on her part.

She did say that all 7 are alive. That's all I've got. The whole "no one can see the kittens until they are ready for adoption" is the scariest part for me. How does she expect them to be properly socialized if they don't have human contact except with her?
Every single thing that she does is the complete opposite of what she told me at the beginning. And I get info from Aloïs, so who knows what's really going on?

She looks great! It's so nice that the other cats play with her. One of my older boy cats loves kittens, he used to help me so much when I was trying to socialise the feral rescues I brought home.

Fingers crossed for Tiny Blue and the rest of his litter mates.

I am worried she is lying about them all being ok. I hope not. But doing what we do I usually expect the worst. :(

I wasn't like that when I started last year. I wasn't like that before meeting Alyssa either. Now, I'm thinking exactly like you are : I think she's lying. All I can do is wait and see if and when Aloïs can go and adopt White Paw for herself, and get Tiny Blue.

Leyia update!
Weight for today 07/24 : 746 gr (+30)
That's 4 days in a row with weight gain! :banana2:

just read this thread=wow you are so much nicer than I would have been. I would have wisked those kittens outta there asap or at least raised holy hell in the hallway where she lives. I think you are doing a great job.

I think you are the bomb to put up with annoying people.

That woman sounds lke a piece of work. I was upset just following along those days you were waiting to hear back.

People like that make our work so much harder. And they refuse to listen to us-they think they know everything. They make me so bloody mad-I can't imagine what kinds of words were slipping out your mouth after every ignored phone call and text..

Hopefully she will contact you in a few weeks once she has 7 kittens destroying her house. Because once they start walking and exploring-it's almost impossible to keep them from knocking things off and making messes with pee/poop etc.

Keep up the good work.

Thank you!
That was my first "house call", and I must say, Alyssa did a good job at hiding her intentions.
But next time, I won't be so nice.
I didn't understand before why people at my rescue were a little (or a lot) bitter, and why they were so cold with prospective adopting families, and people in general. I naively thought that if they were nicer, they would get better results.
I know better now, don't I?

It is a shame and it's really upsetting to think that the world is full of so many cold-hearted, self-centered people. At least we've got TCS, where we can come and meet like-minded people. It always lifts my spirits reading about all the hard work others are doing for animals.
