When I bought my kitten (now 9 months old) the lady told me he had a Bengal mother and Persian/Himalayan mixed father. I saw the two cat's that she told me was his parents but now as he's getting older... he is looking more like a domestic short haired/tabby. Could she have possibly lied? What is he?!

What a cutie! And look at those paws!

I suppose a Bengal/Persian mix could look like that. There's no telling how a mix will turn out. I don't know if polydactyly is common in those breeds or not. Well, probably not in Persians since it's out of standard and they're an older established breed but Bengals may carry the gene.

Did either adult cat have extra toes? What color were the adult cats? If the female didn't have red she couldn't be his mother; only a red or tortie/calico female can have a red kitten.

He is more Bengal/Himalayan - well at least his Dad looked completely Himalayan. As for his Mom, she looked pretty much completely Bengal. I didn't see another other cats around. His litter had 6 total (all polydactyl) and I forget if the parent's were or not. The litter consisted of all different colour kittens, Xavier (my guy) is more beige, he had a black/grey bengal looking brother, and also an orange brother... I didn't see the females though.

Was any of the parents a tabby?    I suspect the bengal mom was a classic tabby - but was she?   Was she a striking, clearly unusual classical tabby, or a rather regular classic tabby?

Anyways, what did you expected because you are asking?

Having a bengal mated with a nice sleek domestic, you could perhaps get out a bengal look alike.

But mated with a totally different mix, you must be happy to get out something as nice and well shaped and adorable as this your cat.   :)

Good luck!

Whatever mix he is, he is gorgeous! Such a nice face and I love his colour and markings.
