I Think I May Have Found My People....

Hi all! My name is Kris and I live in NE Arkansas.

(I'll try to keep this as short as possible.)

My background includes Vet Tech, Shelter Director, Retail Sales currently at a Pet Supplier. I am a mom to a 17 yr old, Andrew and Grandma to a precious 3 month old Grandson, Cason.

I have 4 inside cats, Mr Prowington aka Roo is 8 yrs, Izzi 6 yrs, Speckerton J Cat is 4 yrs, and Adaline is 2 yrs old. I manage 4 colonies of feral kitties, totaling 40 cats. I practice and advocate for TNR and spaying and neutering. 2 of my colonies are long time colonies, 2 are newer so I'll be trapping again in a couple weeks to get everyone in at the low-cost clinic.

I also love to garden and in my spare time.... oh wait, what is spare time? ha Anyway, I'll TRY to keep the pics as limited as possible. Try.

Note: The more recent TNR's are done by a different Vet than the first TNR's. He doesn't eartip so if ya don't see one, that's why. (First Vet did) So only I truly know who is TNR'd and who's not which is frustrating but I can't complain with the prices!

I'm so glad you've found us. That's a wonderful lot of ferals to take care of. Thank you for helping so many of them.

I've been doing TNR for a few years too, but I think I've only helped to get around 40 cats fixed so far. You're inspirational!

I'm just so excited to be here!

As far as I know I am the only "vocal" one in my town that takes care of ferals. So it has been A LOT of trial and error. I'm rather surprised I haven't stumbled upon TCS up until now, but certainly glad I have!

It's so nice to be amongst kindrend spirits united in the same goal!! Very refreshing!! And you guys know your stuff which is super awesome!!

I've got so much catching up to do!

Oh, the hair is a process and an experiment. LOL It has a mind all of it's on and is subject to change at any time. It has actually toned down at this point and if I bleach it one more time, I may be a bald caregiver!! And that doesn't sit well with feeding in these temps!

Funny story.
(This was about 6 months into my first 2 colonies)

--Setting the scene--

One of my good friends is an EMT for a local ambulance service.
Late one night I'm out feeding and get a call from her.
Amber "You've went tooooo far with this Kris"
Me "Huh?"
Amber "The cops just ran your tags over the radio, and another officer jumps on the radio and says,
Oh, it's just the CRAZYCAT LADY."
Me "Bahahaha breathe hahaha" ,"Amber, are you EMBARASSED of our friendship?"
Me picturing Amber **Facepalm**

You have arrived when the PoPo no longer suspects you of burglary, parking, loitering, a drug deal, or any other conceivable crime against society. LOL They pull up, you hold up your bag of food, give em the ol sideways head tilt to say "I got this" and they flip the blues once and move along.
