For those that don't know, I have 2 breeding pairs of sugar gliders and both females have joeys in-pouch right now(they're marsupials, they carry their babies in their pouches). Well, Silvara, one of the females, is getting to that point where little joey-parts are starting to stick out of her pouch because they're getting too big, lol.

Today I had my 3rd sighting of "joey parts", but this is the first time I've been able to get a pic! So, as promised, I'm sharing it:

Do you see the teeny pink tail hanging out of the pouch?

Hopefully we'll see the rest in a week or 2.
More body parts and even joey butts will start to stick out soon.

Here's a cute pic I took of the mom, Silvara, yesterday:

She's a chubbie cutie pie!

Gliders are not normally naturally sociable with humans. I'd say that it's safe to compare them to feral cats: they're wild by nature, but once you gain their trust then you become a member of their family.

Even when gliders are handled from the day they come out-of-pouch, although they trust the person that raised them, they normally don't automatically trust other people. 2 of my gliders bonded to me within just about 2 weeks. On the other hand, it took me almost 6 months to bond with Sugar and Spice.

Once you're bonded to them it's TOTALLY worth it!
As you can see by the pic...lol

Well, here's a new, less freaky-looking pic

The one in the pic is a female and is a mosiac. She's going to be SOOOOO beautiful!

They aren't quite as boogery-looking now, eh? Heehee. It's amazing how just 9 weeks can turn a tiny rice-sized, slimy booger into a cute, naked, wrinkly joey.

I think Silvara IS the Buddha of gliders cause she certainly expects to be worshipped!

I'm not exactly how sure it takes for them to fur up since this is my first time dealing with joeys, but I was told that they should have their fur should come in in a few days. After that it will continue to grow and fluff out.

I'm waiting VERY patiently cause I want to know whether or not the girl will be a platinum mosaic or a gray mosaic.
If she darkens up then she'll be a gray, if the color stays as light as it is right now then she'll be a platinum mosaic! Woot!
