This is already second day without oil and his poop is still like this
I will probably have vet appointment today or tomorrow as I also want him to look at one of the kittens eyes and just examine them properly as I don’t really trust the examination the other vet did
poop istnt too bad, but as you will have kitten examined by another vet; talk about this. have photos and a little sample for parasite check.

Yes I will get a sample and I have taken some pictures too, they are due for deworming as they are 2 weeks old and in UK we deworm kittens every 2 weeks from 2-12 weeks and than every month until they are 6 months old. I don’t know if everywhere is the same or just here

They are sleeping now but I have to wake them up as they need to be feed
I’m curious if their appetite is back. The one kitten with eye infection eating very well which is good as he is the smallest but my other 2 are being fussy

This is ginger and white kitten with eye infection Every time I feed him I clean his eyes so every 2h and I always come back to his eyes being shut close and once I wipe it he is able to open them

The second kitten just woke up and it’s looking messy.

2 weeks is a little early, but milbomax sold by a british producer, is supposed to be able to give healthyvkittens 2+ weeks. milbomax takes both roundworms and tapeworms. ( if they ever had fleas they may get tapeworms, as fleas are an inbetween host) pyrantel is mild, 2+weeks, for just roundworms.

I will have a look. They don’t have fleas I’m not sure if mother had or not, she was stray cat but everyone in village took care of her she wasn’t in bad condition but not sure if the mother was ever dewormed. Do you think kittens have worms? I feed them not too long ago and I notice something grainy in the poop
I mix formula well so I don’t know what is this white bits

The white bits is likely undigested milk. It’s possible that your kitten with the bad poops is allergic to the formula you are using. Maybe try full fat goats milk if you can get it. Most kittens respond well to goats milk. If not, try a different formula with this kitten.

Do see the vet for terramycin for the kitten with the eye infection since it is not clearing.

The fact the other kittens are doing well on the formula, tells me your kitten is likely not doing well on it but probably has no other issues. Change formula for him only right away if you can. It may solve the problem.

Do insist on a Terramycin tube from the vet for your kitten with eye problems.

Do keep is posted!

agree with above. count an outside going momma has round worms and thus kittens too. its only inside only well kept for generations cats whom typically has no such problems. thus it happens purebred arent dewormed at all.

ps if you cant find goats milk proper; try to find kmr based on goats milk. or even goats milk in powder. here in sweden there is Farm food nr 1; its a goats milk based powder; with the idea to be a supplement; but I know its an ok kmr. perhaps you have this in GB too?

I will try to get them some goats milk today. I’m also going to the vet as 2 of the kittens refuse to eat I’m not sure if it is because of the formula or not but they just don’t want to take bottle which is really concerning
I will get the eye drops and also ask vet about deworming as they are 2 weeks old now
In UK we have goat formula but for human babies

goat formula for human babies should be ok. just dilute it less. thus human baby replacement is possible to use for kittens in a pinch, but less dilute.

Unfortunately one of the kittens passed away on the way to the vet. The other 2 kittens were examined and they have infection
Vet give them injection and I have antibiotic drops to give them every 12h
I also have bottle of GI rehydration so I have to give them 2-3ml every couple of hours as they vomited today so they are dehydrated. I also received panacur dewormer I have to give the 0.15ml daily for 3 days starting tomorrow
At the moment just have to wait and hope they will fight the infection
They are so tiny it’s not fair that they were born with such a bad luck, first they lost their mother now they have health issues. Poor little babies
At least this vet was very nice and actually spend about an hour making sure they were ok and prescribed them proper medication

unless they are heavily worm infested, worm infection causing all these problems; i would advise to wait with panacur till they are better and stabilized.

Yes it makes sense. So far they are doing better their appetite is back. They also like to drink this rehydration GI
I’m giving them antibiotics every 12hrs
For now all I can do is wait as see as their condition keeps changing so quickly

I’m so sorry for the one who passed. It seemed to happen very quickly.

I am hopeful with the supportive care the others will make it. Did the vet say what infection he thinks they may have?

So the kitten that passed away is the kitten with the poop issues and later vomiting.
The vet just said it seems like they have an infection and they need an antibiotic
IMG_0535.jpeg

this is list of the meds the vet prescribed
I haven’t dewormed them yet as I mention before. I will soon as they think mother had worms so better sooner than later but I will probably wait day or 2 more. Today the kittens are doing much better they are eating and moving around it seems like the antibiotics is working. I also got them some goat milk as the KMR is making them little bit bloated

I’m excited to hear they are doing better. I agree with holding off on the Panacur for now. Let them get a bit stronger. Panacur in itself is not bad, but too many meds at once can be too much and then you don’t know what they are reacting to, etc.

Hi,
It’s been few days so I thought I would send an update. The kittens are doing good, the antibiotics really helped and they are active and eating healthy amounts of goat milk
I had to separate the kittens from each other as I couldn’t figure out why one was loosing fur it turns out at night one kitten was suckling on the other so the vet told me to keep them separate for their safety. It upset me a little as they don’t have mother and now there is only 2 of the kittens left and they can’t even be together
I need advice how long should I keep them separated? Do you thing even once they are few weeks old they will still suckle on each other? They will be 3 weeks old in a day or 2
