Its easiest to see on the tail. Bushy = at least mediumhair

Does any body know if he’s going to be a long or short haired cat?

It can be difficult to tell sometimes. When Charlie was that age, I wondered if he would turn out to be at least mediumhaired. It was just kitten fluff, though-he's a shorthair.

He seems older than 2.5 months to me. But as said above, the tail will most likely tell at this point.

Yeah, looks short-haired to me too. My mama's boy that we lost 2 years ago (at a ripe old age of 23) was a medium haired when he adopted me at an estimated 7mos to a year. His coat blossomed to a fluffy long hair (not Persian length but he was quite proud of it). My current 13 mos olds were quite fluffy (compared to your cutie) at 8 weeks with long paw tufts. I would call the female a medium haired with a long haired tail. Her brother's coat is really filling out now in his second year of life (more than the picture to the left). He might be on his way to full long haired status. So, this is my long-way of saying, your kitty might prove us wrong and have his coat fill out.
