Human Glargine Pen For Cats

So, does anyone out there use the glargine pen? Don’t you just use it with a U-100 syringe?

I used the Lantus insulin glargine pen and the U-100 syringes. I previously used U-40s with ProZinc. Did your vet specify which syringe you should use?

Yes. Use a U100 insulin syringe for a Lantus insulin pen. You don't use the pen needles. See this picture that I created years ago for the FDMB and is now on other web sites / forums:

Yeah. That’s how I gave it last night at work but I guess the vet who worked today was confused and called me asking how I gave it.

Not all vets are familiar with how to use an insulin pen with insulin syringes. Good teaching moment to show how it's done :agree:
