My friend and I were comparing our summer sun tans on our arms when she started to giggle.
She said you can tell we have owned cats all our lives..both our arms are crisscrossed with little white cat scratch scars showing through the tan.
They mark us physically as well as emotionally it seems :)

How to recognize a long term cat owner:

They carry hundreds of pictures of their "babies" and are eager to show them to anyone, everyone and strangers.

They have long given up trying to pick every cat hair (or ball of cat hair) off their clothing.

They have accepted that cats do jump on counters, tables and pretty much whereever they want.

Their cat is on the christmas present list

They understand that standing on something squishy between their toes isnt a major disaster after all.

They accept that cat food costs more per pound than a decent steak.

Perfect furniture and drapes arent really important.

They wont roll over in the middle of the night, even though they cant feel their arm any more because it will disturb their cat.

Their friends may judge them poorly............but they dont care anymore.

When they arrive home, they eagerly look to the front window to see their baby looking back.

Their cat has its own pillow(s).....on the bed.
