Hi there.

I have an almost 7yrs old female domestic shorthair named Oreo and we are getting a female ragdoll kitten this summer/late spring. Oreo had been introduced to an older female cat Angel who I lost a couple years ago due to old age and kidney disease. They were introduced by letting and almost 1 year old Oreo wander around on the opposite site of the house. They interacted pretty well with only a bit of hissing. Would it be safe to do the same with a kitten as long as they are supervised? I plan to take a week off work to get my kitten acquainted to the house.

Thanks

Haven't you already asked this?

I believe my response was:
The settling in usually takes about a week I find. The 1st and possibly 2nd day, they're quite scared and might cry at night but by the 3rd and 4th days they're beginning to explore more (so I recommend confining them to a laundry or bathroom for the first 2 days and then letting them explore a bit more until a week keeping her seperate from your other cat, and after that use the following week or fortnight to socialise with your other cat.

So you may need to take 2 weeks off if possible, or just take a few days off over the 2 weeks.

Hi,

I apologize if I did already ask this, my memory is not always that great because my medication causes brain fuzz 😅. Thank you for the advice though, I really appreciate it. 😊
