once a cat receives her first rabies shot how soon is she protected if she goes outside and if she should come in contact with a wild animal?

It usually takes a week or 2 to develop full immunity. Is this the first rabies shot she's ever gotten or has she been vaccinated before? If she was vaccinated before she probably carries some immunity from that and the booster shot just was a "reminder" for her immune system.

Thank you...it will be the first rabie shot she’s ever had. I want to introduce her to my older indoor cats but wanted to make sure how long I should wait after she gets the shot.

Please keep your cat indoors. Nothing good can happen to a cat outdoors.

I have no plans on letting them outside, they will be indoor cats from now on
