So, I'm picking up my new cat on Monday - she's a 3 year old British shorthair, retired queen. Very loving and sweet. Super excited!! (some of you may have read my old post when I was going for a different cat, but that didn't happen!).
So my lifestyle is such that I'm away once a month for 3 nights. One of the reasons why I went for a 3 year old cat, rather than a kitten.
I would welcome experienced owners advice on how often she'll need a visit from a kind neighbour. I go on a Friday lunchtime and back Monday lunchtime, so how many times do you think it's appropriate for a neighbour to pop round? She's a house cat so will need litter tray scooping etc, although I could leave two clean litter trays down when I go. I'm intending on feeding her one wet meal a day and also have an automatic feeder for her kibble. I want to make this as easy as possible and not burden my neighbours too much, whilst providing the cat with what she needs to be happy.
I am not intending on travelling for the first month to ensure she's feeling settled.
Thanks so much
