It's usually nothing, but during the warmer weather it's a fan or air conditioner. I prefer the quiet though. I do have a nightlight on in the hallway so I can find my way to the bathroom if I need to.

My bedroom ceiling fan is on probably six months out of the year. I like the feeling of air moving and that it is pretty much silent.

Yes, especially during the summer months we have the ceiling fan on. We watch the news and have the TV on when we first go to bed, we set it on a timer.

Link loves his window so most days the window is open and the whole house fan runs to bring in fresh air. When it's really (really) hot or raining hard is pretty much the only two times I deny Link his window. Mostly because if I don't open the window he yells at me continuously for hours. But when it's still over 90F at 8pm or letting water in I put my foot down.

We have central A/C, so for me it's nothing- unless you want to count Miss Eleanor purring next to me.

I can't sleep with the TV on or I wake up with a backache for some reason. I guess I need my REM sleep?

Nightlight on in case I need to go to the bathroom. Air Conditioner or Fan in July & August.

During the summer months a boxed fan on because my husband gets hot easily with two dogs and a cat under our sheets snuggled into our legs. I always have the TV on low volume though. I cant sleep without the noise and I hate it pitch black.

Fans are a must for white noise, if you live in a city. And a must for summer, too.

So, fan on and a Breath Rite stuck on the bridge of my husband's nose. And maybe even ear phones/radio. And a Breath Rite on husband's nose. oh, I said that once already
:p
