How do you handle pushback from your veterinarian?

Luckily where I live we have a veterinarian practice that is holistic and the 2 vets there have been embracing raw diets for 25 years now. Every time I go in the Dr is so excited to see my cat thriving on a raw diet and that I actually feed her as he's recommended. I guess holistic vets are probably not the norm. My cat was on science diet when I first got her and had terrible dandruff which cleared up after about 2 weeks on raw. My only issue now is the brand I was feeding switched ingredients and I'm having to find another brand Ms picky likes.

This might be a good opportunity to find several flavors or brand she likes and rotate them. I found this is the best way to keep cats from being picky and refusing to eat something different. With how the supply lines are right now it's kind of a good idea to not just have one thing.

Indy does not eat raw but performatrin ultra must be pretty good. Vet said her coat is the softest and most velvety coat on any cat she's seen.

Yes I need to do that, I got a couple more today to try, will check out the one you have mentioned, I do have a dry food I use in food puzzles that she likes. I never did have to use a canned food to switch her to raw.

There are neutral vets out there. My new vet says he doesn’t have an opinion on raw. He sees it as a diet that has risks but he isn’t going to tell his clients not to feed it. He said some cats do well on it and some don’t and he prefers to feed canned food because our raw meat isn’t freshly killed, it’s been sitting out dead for a long time. If you find a respectful vet regardless of how he/she feels about raw feeding you’ll do fine.

By the way I don’t feed a fully raw diet. I supplement with freeze dried raw.
