I hope one of you has a miracle answer You that have heard of Daisy's problems will realize that l  am gong to have a problem in three days time when her collar has to come of. She will not come near me when she hasn't. had a op so what l an going to do l don't know.

When she came home yesterday she has gone a few steps backwards, she is just crawling across the floor and her eyes look so terrified.

It doesn't get any easier just am hoping that in a week or so she will get back to were she was, she was with me most of the day but the nearest  l  got to her was stroking her with two feather wands  that were stuck together and she would go in front of my feet. To me that was a big improvement. and l only had to say' stroke' and she was there but any movement from me to get nearer to her she was off. I was thinking of getting her into the smallist room and that's the bathroom but the trouble we had getting her into a carrier that was a nightwear and she bit the man that was helping me.

Hoping someone has got a magic wand.

Oh boy, this is a pickle.  Getting her into the bathroom may be the best approach, and definitely get help.  Your helpier should have gloves and can corner her, while you unlock the collar.  I'd just cut the fasteners, unless it is a very expensive type.

Maybe the vet might have a suggestion?  I will be thinking about you - hope things go OK.

The only thing about the bathroom is as l kept her in there thinking it was the smallest room but now she knows what its for and like before she bit my helper. So don't think him or his wife will come. That breeder that didn't socialise her owes me a lot. Can they be pulled of. Its an Elizabethan Buster collar.

Well its not getting any better, Daisy has just gone back to the begging, she is hiding all over  the place l don't know of most of them.I only have to move my arm and she is running on her tummy worse than before. She was coming on so well and she had trust in me and was spending time in the same room with me. She was running to me when l called her but at the moment l don't even know where she is.I saw her for a few minutes this morning till l went into the kitchen and she flew past me.

It does knock you down,l knew being at the vets and having a op that she would react a bit but not like this right back to 4 months ago.

The same couple that helped me get her in to the carrier are going to come next Wednesday to help getting the color of her which is so good of them.

Just hope after that things will change back to how she was before.

I have even thought should l put her into a crate, l am against it but its making me wonder if it would work better for her.

Something more to think about,

She might be safer crated for now. The last thing you want is for her to get stuck somewhere and burst her stitches trying to get free.

I know she's gone backwards, but she's learned to trust you once. This time she'll progress much faster. Keep yourself as calm as possible - if you stress about it she'll pick up on that, and it will just take longer to get back to where you were.

This op had to happen. She will come round, and she will trust you again. Relax and have a little faith in her.

Thanks Columbine,

Have given myself a shake which l needed. Getting her crated would take a while as have to get one on line but am still thinking.

Since l sent the post in have thought that all the time she is hiding and sleeping it is keeping her safer. Have just found her in her strawberry bed l got her and she never bothered with it but now she is curled up in it. Another thing is while she is there l can get about without having to watch were she is so she won't bolt again.

All this sleeping is probably natures way of given her time to get over it. With the coll or on there is not a lot she can do. When l stroked her with the feather sticks she would roll over all the time and there is no way she can now.

Besides my legs and spine giving me hell my left arm into my shoulder is having  so much  pain,  that's another reason maybe she is keeping away.

Sorry for being such a pain.

You're not being a pain :) I'm glad she's found somewhere she feels safe. So long as she's settled there isn't much of an issue.

I'm sorry you're in such pain. It makes everything so much harder. I know I'm much more on edge when I'm bad, and much more inclined to panic and stress about things. I hope you feel better soon :vibes:

Well what a performance getting a collar of, l left her in the bathroom so my helpers could get Daisy easy with no were to hide.

But in the night she got away and she had got below me in my electric bed and was going  to the bottom end so she couldn't be seen.. After an hour of trying to get her, the bed had to be taken apart as she discovered that even being a electric bed it was harder to get her in the bottom end. Then four pair of sharp scissors had to used as the knot was so tight.

All l saw of Daisy  was a flash and she is now squashed behind the sofa so l think i have some work to do. Yesterday she was sat near my feet all day. I will give her time to get over all this then school time starts.

Glad the collar is off.  What an ordeal.  Is there a way that you could keep her in a more confined space or do you think she will come out from hiding?  Maybe try to block off some of the behind the couch and under furniture places if she is prone to this.

I have an electric bed too. Asha got herself shut under it once. I can imagine how hard it was to get to Daisy. At least you finally got the collar off  I hope she calms down soon. shadowsrescue shadowsrescue has some great suggestions. :vibes:

Daisy has gone  into her strawberry bed now. She is very nervous but had started to sit with me and she trusted me but getting her neutered has sent her backwards but when she has got over all this l will start lessons again lol. She wasn't socialized by the breeder, was born in a cattery and left there till they were sold. She was very tiny when she was born so was left with her mum longer. But l am sure l was shown a different cat and didn't realize till l got home.

Will do my best with her and am going to get something to calm her. The vet gave me some but it was to weak so going to try something else.

Well Daisy is getting over her shock at going to the vets. I am keeping her in the Irving room instead of the bedroom were she used to hide. This way she isn't sleeping all day and playing all night. With her trusting me she likes it and l can play with her but  she is running away from me a lot if l get up and try to walk. Properly doesn't feel safe with me being tall and have a struggle walking.

One thing l am worried about is now she has been neutered and as you know l have to stroke her with her feather sticks well every time l do she is sticking her bum in the air same position when mating, does it more now than when she was in heat. I laugh it of and tell her to put it away and she does. Should she still do it a month after her op.
