How do I best describe my male cats patterns? Torbie with small markings?

Hi everyone!
When I brought my little boy home from the pound, it took me nearly two months to win his trust. The moment I knew he exposed his belly and presented me with his beautiful black buttons upon white and caramel. My little boy is super attached to me and my husband. He trills to communicate, loves to play, sleeps in very strange positions and is fascinated with running water. He loves to swat at running water and isn't worried getting wet. However he is extremely wary and shy of other people.
I would love to know how to best describe his patterns and markings, technically speaking? Is he a tabby or torbie? Is the colour called apricot or caramel?
Thanks in advance.
Rachel and Kash

He’s black based (brown) mackerel tabby with white. The warmer tones on him are just a normal part of black tabby colouration. Tortie s and calicos are almost all female, as two X chromosomes are generally needed for that colour combination.
