Sorry for the OT.
Actually I don't live exactly there, this is a town about 20 miles southwest from me that I visited last Sunday. There's a rocky outcrop right outside this town (you can see the town down below).
You are correct, Margot Lane , the mountains in the photo are the Alps, looking north. If you look closely, behind the farthest ridges in the center of the photo, you can see a white flat mountain top, that is Monte Rosa, right on the border with Switzerland. That mountain is 80 miles from this observation point.

From the same observation point on the top of this outcrop, looking southwest. The Alps. The highest pointy mountain right under the sun glare is Monviso (15 miles away from where I was), where the longest river of the country springs from.

The shot below is the city where I live, 8 miles SW from Turin. I took this photo with my drone, February 2022.
The mountains are the Alps, about 30 miles NW from me. Beyond them it's France.
