Hi all,
I've got a 21-year old cat that started on homecooked in the past 6 months. With her most recent bloodwork creatine and BUN were elevated. WBC normal. We did a uranalysis, and the UA found no protein in the urine but low urine specific gravity (1.016). Given her age, it seems kidney failure is likely, but these values really came out of the blue. We were rechecking high liver values from 2 months prior (normal now) and kidney values were normal then.
I am not asking for medical advice, but I am wondering about others' experiences with high BUN and creatine after starting a homemade diet, and/or developing kidney failure on a homecooked diet. Thanks for reading.
