I want to buy a storage bin 30inch x18 for my cat that pees standing up. She goes over 13 1/2 marker! Shes adult only 7 pds. It will be in my bathroom. I know some on here have homemade. Is hard to take outside to clean it or too awkward? Silly? But I can't decide

I use litter box wipes to clean Ruby's litter box. It's not a homemade one, but it does have fairly high sides, and the wipes work fine. They're a little expensive, but very convenient. I buy them at Walmart, but I'm sure all the pet stores have them. Here's the link from Amazon:

30" x 18" would probably be too awkward and too heavy. I use the 18-gallon bins. They hold 20 pounds of clay litter, which is just right for lifting, etc. for me. They're about 18" x 12" on the bottom.

I buy ones from Petco. Not the best but cheap

The only storage bin I could find high enough was 30in long x18 high. All other bins are 12inch high which she goes over

Hmm, yeah, the ones I use are 15 inches high. With 3 inches of litter that leaves 12 inches and, yeah, sometimes they pee over the side.

Maybe the big one will work if you use lightweight litter. . .

We use 4 homemade litter boxes. The first one I have made was huge (68 x 80 x 20 cm) and for that reason very hard to carry and wash in our small shower cabin.
The current ones are 49 x 71 x 25 cm and are perfect size for our cats and also easy to clean and wash.

Our litter box has a hood, which might help to not have your cat standing to pee, but could also help when it comes to peeing out of the box.

I tried that once but it was a hassle to clean it every day. I did discover something odd. The litter box in my bed room is not homemade. She squats! Only difference I can think of is that it's behind curtains so she has no place to mark. The one in the bathroom is a clear shot because of walls. When I had one in my bathroom that was not homemade she would go over. I covered the wall in my bathroom today. Hope that works!

30x18 with about 10" diameter hole cut in the middle of the lid. Our has never had a problem with it.
Just make sure when that the tote you buy has the smoothest bottom you can find. The more support corrugations there are on the bottom, the harder it is to scoop.

Sounds like the one I might buy. Smooth all around. 30x18. Her peeing standing up only in my bathroom might always be a problem. That's the location her bff Josie used. Though her scent should be gone after 5 months

I dunno. A friends puppy dribbled just a little bit in the dining room floor. 4 years ago. It's been cleaned and scrubbed many times since.
Our cats will wallow all over that spot at least once a week.

What if you tried a litter box with a cover on it?

Did that once. Hassle to clean pee on the cover every day. I like to see my cats using the litterbox anyways
