Pulled a second shot for the day.

23g, grind size 3, yield 55g @30 sec (around there), light tamp. Coffee puck is wet. Taste close or better than morning's. Milk frothing - still too foamy but I guess I kind of know how much air to inject the next time. Hopefully to get a silky milk texture the next time round.

Next round do - 23g, grind size 3, very light tamping and see what I'll get. Hopefully it'll fall between 50g @30 secs.

2 shots today

23g, grind size 3.25, yield 55g @30 sec (around there), light tamp. Coffee puck is slightly wet. Like the taste. Milk frothing - Better than yesterday, not so thick foam. Hopefully to get a silky milk texture the next time round.

So the timing and yield is falling almost into place. Hopefully it can be consistent till the end of the beans as I have another new batch of beans waiting and those have to be dialed in all over again.

23g, grind size 3.25, yield 60g  @30 sec, light tamp. Coffee puck is slightly wet. Taste much bitter today, don't quite like it. Milk frothing - A little too foamy today. Not sure why the foaming build up so fast today.

Will go for 3.50 grind size next and hopefully all get 50g yield.

Not sure why it was bitter than usual. It's ok to drink if you like it the taste thicker than usual but for me, I would prefer it less bitter. Nope, have not switch to new beans yet as I have to finish this batch first.

I don't like a bitter taste myself .It might be a stupid question but I'm wondering what water you use--- Florida tap water is really bad, most everyone buys water or uses filtration systems..... me,I use tap water for coffee mostly but when I use zepherhills or some good bottled water it does make a difference

How's the tap water in your Country? Ours varies tremendously State to State

Today's biter taste is a little stronger than I like it to be. I like a strong coffee but today's taste is a little out of whack.

I use filtered water. Filtered water is best for espresso machines.

We can drink direct from the tap here in our country. Our country's water is vey safe to drink direct from the tap in the house.

23g, grind size 3.5, yield 70g  @30 sec, light tamp. Coffee puck is slightly wet. Taste not so bitter today, not the exact taste though. Milk frothing - A little too foamy on top today, otherwise pretty good.

Today's pull was a little boo boo shot. Reason is that the machine over heated as I was upping the temperature and warmed up the group head and after that inserted the portafilter. I don't want the coffee grinds to be shaken while plugging the heat as the machine goes into some pumping action to rid the heat and probably that will disturb the coffee puck so I took it off and saw that the top part was stuck to the group head as it was wet and I look at the portafilter, the coffee puck was damp and disturbed so I put it back on to the group head ad as I was about to pull the shot, my boy was meowing non stop and I liked at him and he look at me with his soulful eyes, he was hungry and I can't resist that look and I stop everything. Coffee can wait. My boy comes first. So I fed him and after that, I continued with where I stopped and pulled the shot.

Didn't go as expected but taste was not bitter but a little blend but drinkable.

Will go for 3.50 grind size next round again and hopefully all get 50g yield as todays' shot was a little fast. I cannot go any coarser unless I reduce the grams of the coffee beans.

Also I'm looking for a slightly bigger cup for to probably have a better balance for 23g of coffee.

Today did not get an exact dosage of the coffee as I was distracted to something and came back the scale was turned off and I just estimated the dosage.
21.5g? Grind size 3.25, 75 yield @30 secs, light tamping, puck is wet. Milk too frothy.

Got a new and bigger kitty mug :p

23.3g, grind size 3.5, yield 60g @30 sec, harder than normal tamping. Coffee puck is looks good. Taste not so bad, not the exact taste though. Milk frothing - A little better than previous time. Can get less foam in.

Next try : 23.5g, grind size 3.25, harder tamping. Aim for 60 - 70g @30 secs.
