On occasion, I motivate my tubby butt outside for a hike. I always take a camera and usually my pictures are horrid.

I took a couple today that I am really liking.

I fell in love with that tree. The roots have so much character.

Those are really nice pictures. Look like they belong on the front of a card.

Those roots are great...I would make a story about some little gnome who lives in there and only comes out at night.

My grand kids love that stuff!!

I took some others of tree roots with nooks and crannies in them. They are fairy houses. My daughter put some acorns in them

Thanks
.

We went out again today for a 90 minute hike. My little seven year old was such a trooper, she made it most of the way without complaining.

Here are a couple more pics:

I found that tree interesting. The tree was still living with a huge hole in its trunk.

I wonder what lives in that hole?

I am such the couch potato. I HATE exercise but hiking is fun. So much to see!

Nice pictures! I love all the different fungi you see in the forests. That tree with the hole in it is cool! I would've crawled through that as a kid.

Thanks!!

Milk maid, no, I would never eat them because I HATE eating mushrooms. The only time I did was when I was pregnant with my son and they had to be deep fried.

Next time I go, I am going to take a trash bag. I was sad to see all the garbage people leave. I mean, geez, you carried your cup through the trails, can't you carry it to a trash can? I wanted to spit out my gum yesterday so I picked up an leaf, put my gum in it and then put it in my camera bag for later disposal.

If I ever see someone littering on a trail....OMG, they will get an earful.

Wonderful pictures! I love to walk in the woods....you never know what you're going to find. Have you seen any deer or wildlife?

Just alot of chipmunks and squirrels. We keep hoping to see bald eagles since they are known to nest there. That would be a great sight!!
