Hello there! I have a "1" over the Articles header and was wondering how do I access whatever it means please. I looked at the site info but did not see. Thanks for your help!

It likely just means that someone commented to a comment you made to an article, kind of like when you receive purraise and get a number above the Alerts. Just click on the number to be taken whatever the notification is. You can turn off notifications by going to the alert preference section of your profile.

Hi, thanks! I did click the number already and it takes me to a page of articles. So I am not sure which is the right article and the number does not go away. I don't mind notifications, but the others go away and this one is still there.
I shut my alerts off, so I can't point you to a specific, but I do know you will get one for a new article. This article is new and featured, so that is probably it.
