This is very rare for a kitten, just rescued. Just wondering if anyone has dealt with this and what's to be expected. Here's a pic

Has the kitty been examined extensively? Is it known if they have both sets of reproductive organs, or are they just visually ambiguous?

Are you going to adopt them? :D

Yes, both sets from Male and female. The vet is assuming as the kitten gets older it can be determined how to get the kitten fixed. Once the kitten is and microchipped the kitten will be adoptable. Right now the kitten is having complications with the litterbox. I assume the kitten will figure it out once older. I help with rescues

This isn't the first hermaphroditic kitten we've had on here. One thing I would suggest is a very experienced feline specialist when the time comes for neutering. PROBABLY only one set of gonads will be active, but occasionally, rarely, both testes and ovaries will BOTH be functional.

The adult Male will be taken to a rescue in San Antonio for his eye surgery. They take care of cats needing medical attention. Even have strollers for paralyzed cats

If I'm not mistaken hermaphroditic mammals are born sterile so having them fixed seems an unncessary surgery. I'd research that one.
Maybe. But unused female reproductive organs tend to go bad (pyometra or cancer) and even sterile toms might spray. There are other reasons to spay/neuter other than birth control.

Severe constipation. It was taken care of but came back

"At the moment, we aren't sure if he's a hermaphrodite, or a pseudohermaphrodite – the difference being that a hermaphrodite has fully functioning sets of both male and female sex organs, while a pseudohermaphrodite has both sets, but only one is functioning. There don't seem to be many stats out there, but I have been working in veterinary medicine since I was 16 and have never seen anything like it."
"I truly feel Gary deserves a chance. He's the sweetest, most loving little thing. Despite all he's been through, all he wants to do is climb up in my lap
I could never foster. This is too upsetting. She has a GoFundMe page but I did not post
