My cat is very clumsy and tends to cut himself a lot and pull the hair around so I’m quite used to just putting his steroid cream and making sure he doesn’t lick it. HOWEVER, this time he hasn’t been licking it as I’m keeping an eye on him 24/7 and it seems the patch is getting bigger? It’s a bit scaly but it doesn’t seem to hurt him when I touch.
Anyone know if it could be something else?

I'd have your vet take a look at that. It almost looks like an early case of ringworm, or another fungal infection. I'm attaching a photograph of early ringworm on a cat's head. IT WILL TAKE A VET TO PROPERLY DIAGNOSE THIS, though. As I said, it could be any number of things, including an allergy of some sort.
