Hi guys
I notice over a week my cat starting loosing alot of hair to her backside. At a closer look i have seen these sores. We baby sat a kitten who turns out had fleas and ringworm. The local pet stores believes its all due to fleas..**note we have a little dog who I notices a flea on the same day after che king and both animals are indoor animals**. Please HELP, I'm worried its now ring worm or something and should take her to the vet.. shes not in pain nor she's she seem concerned or in an discomfort.

Hi, and welcome to TCS :hithere::welcomesign:

The photo is a little blurry, but your girl definitely needs to see a vet ASAP. I can't tell exactly what those sores are, but they need veterinary treatment. Ringworm is a definite possibility (especially as you babysat that kitten, and ringworm is easily transmitted), but it could also be a flea allergy. Those are my two best guesses, but I'm not a vet and can't tell you anything for sure.

Cats are very good at hiding pain, so its very possible that your girl is hurting and just isn't showing it. I know if I had sores like that they'd definitely be painful.

Whatever the cause, your cat really needs to see a vet. Do come back and let us know what they say.

Hi. I agree with Columbine Columbine - a vet visit is in order. If you can get a clearer picture, you could send it to your vet and see what they think about it. It might help you get a vet appointment sooner, or perhaps they would recognize it enough to prescribed meds without you having to take your cat into the vet's office. Tell them what you told us, and they likely will want to have you treat her for both conditions.

My dog is flea allergic and I only mention this because for an animal who has that allergy it can be very painful....so don't pass it off as just fleas and not skin cancer or something like that. I am not saying that you would do that, but agree that the cat needs to see a vet.
