If his nails haven't been trimmed, that could help some. Tbh, there are no other options that I know of at this point.

How many days out from the surgery are you?

Can you get claw caps? , --since just clipping his claws won't probably help that much.

The surgery was last Monday. It's now the next week Wednesday

Claw caps if you can get them, if not at least trim the claws, but otherwise if there's no swelling, pus or bad smell from the incision, I'm not a vet but I think he'll probably heal up ok.

I was about to cut them and i managed to cut 1 on each paw. He hated it but I noticed the claws seem quite blunt.

If infection is not a problem, would it heal? Since the ointment being used prevents infection, i don't think it's a risk. I'm worried whether it'll heal or not

I have to circle back to why you cannot consult the vet. Have you shared with your parents what this looks like? Maybe if they see it is open like that, they would be willing to help you out. It may not be that bad, but I honestly cannot tell from the pics.

Unless you have a relative who is of age that would be willing to help you, all you can do is try the ointment in an attempt to avoid an infection and see if it will heal on its own.

As I looked at the photos, the only thing you can do now is just keep on applying the ointment and make sure it won’t get infected. Also you may try to get some saline solution from a health care store or pharmacy and some gauze or clean lint free towel.

Gently wash the affected area
with the saline solution and dab off the solution and when it’s dry enough, apply the ointment. Keep doing this especially after your cat has gone to the litterbox.

This may take awhile for the skin to grow back and cover the surgery site. Just be patient and do your best.

I guess even if you take your cat back to the vet, there’s no skin for them to suture up the surgery site. So please, diligently do the saline solution cleaning and applying of the ointment and keep the surgery site as clean as possible.

Hi, thank you so much for your reply. There is debris and like cat hair underneath the scab. When I try to remove it it cracks and breaks the scab and damages the area even more. I'm not sure what to do about this.
