I don't often get stuck with coming up with an appropriate name for a cat or kitten who comes to me, but with having a rescue group, I have to come up with names all the time, and every so often I get stuck and need to come up with one before their spay/neuter so it's on the certificate.

Granted sometimes after they get adopted the new owners might change it, but that's fine too.

This little 8-9 week old shy boy needs a name. Thanks for some ideas!

Teddy because he's got the most fabulous teddybear fur.

Or Tommy Pickles the leader of the 'Rug Rats, cos your little guy looks like a rug rat.   He even wore an orange t shirt once aparently.

This is a beautiful kitten.  Apologies to the suggestor, but 'Wookie' doesn't work for me.  And I am a SW fan.

Other than 'Princess' per my Murphy's Law, that all long-haired cats named Princess are Male, I just read a very heart warming story on another pet site, about a Flame Point Siamese named 'Alfie'.  That name worked well for that cat and his adoptive family.

So, I hearby nominate 'Alfie' as the name for your kitten.

How fun!!
 LOVE these names :)

Some I've used, a few do strike me as good for him.

Love Teddy but have a special boy on my cat route with that name, my faves so far are Rusty and Spike :)) He DOES have very soft but spikey fur.

As I have had a number of cats over the years, I have had the task of naming them.  Some names came easily, others did not.  In some cases I have borrowed from a book that is a part of the Classic Star Trek Series:  "Uhura's Song", by Janet Kagan.  From that book, I have used the names, 'Brightspot', 'CopperEye', 'Catchclaw', and a couple of others.

Just a thought.
