So after 3 months, the cat has started to come out. The music really help and so did reading to her. Today, however; was her spay and getting her into a carrier wasn't fun. Both she and I were super stressed. I'm just hoping that when she comes home she will be ok as there is no way for me to check her. She's also still hiding under the futon when I enter the room. I'll keep her quiet for the next few nights and not bother her. I think that might be best for her to de-stress.

Can you block under the futon with boxes or other things so she can't get in there? Or keep her in the bathroom or a room with no hiding places temporarily just for the week or two after her operation? It might help your bonding too.
