r that may or may not change then I suppose thats fine for
And I see no downside to slowly expanding her space btw Shannon777 Shannon777

Since she's playing with toys already I have to wonder if she's merely semi feral..... adult ferals are typically clueless to what these strange objects are and they are not interested in " play" for some time,if ever

Besides, most times captured " ferals" are not usually feral ...even so called " feral " feeding colonies are pretty much made up of semi ferals..the real ferals will scrounge around after the humans left

You're going to be fine.... your Cali sounds like a nice cat....
think her playfulness is due to her being around six months old and having learned about play over the past month by me trying so hard to get her to play lol. She didn't understand it at all until it clicked last week. It's nice to see her coming out of her shell even if she's not ready to interact with me yet. However, she is very curious when I interact with the resident cat outside the gate at the door of the room. She peeks out of her "cave" and watches very closely and one time a few days ago, she briefly forgot her fear, came out like she wanted to join in and then quickly retreated. It seems that seeing me with Becca more often might help her overcome her fear of me. I'll let her decide if she wants to expand her territory. She has a sweet personality with no aggression. Maybe the Feliway I've been using since day 1 has helped too!

I keep forgetting she's not an adult- so young will come around quickly, especially with a mature cat to lead by example......

Young ones are easy,I've been so used to the mature ferals that are very set in their ways

I recently caught a little one, maybe 7 months old, such a pleasure and they adapt so willingly- haven't had years and years of bad experiences..

Once she's confident in her surroundings and Calli accepts her she'll show her the ropes....my 8 yr old watched the 4 residents and he studies their every move( remember where the term " copycat" came from) lol
