Guess it wasn't as tough as I thought
I had to think about it for a while, so it WAS hard!
First I thought it might be a Small Munsterlander. Then I thought, no, too curly. Next I was thinking maybe an Irish Water Spaniel with a funny haircut but that didn't seem quite right, but it did look like a spaniel... I went through the spaniels I've heard of, and decided it had to be a Boykin-- I had forgotten about them at first!

No, but it is considered to be a close relative.
Nope, it's a Mudi, one of the hungarian sheepdogs, related to the Puli and Pumi!!!
