artiemom artiemom - apparently, my midwife did not get a good quality report from the ultrasound tech. It said something like "cannot determine if placenta is partially covering cervix os or not". I guess a midnight ultrasound is not going to be the best, and maybe Bebe was preventing a good view. I'm starting to get pessimistic about this placenta actually moving, but they're still going to check again in three weeks.

Anyway

25 weeks

Bebe is the size of this cake (slightly longer) (the cake mix is banana supreme and the frosting is unicorn funfetti), a tarte tatin, a napa cabbage, a baseball glove, a prairie dog, and is about 1.5lbs.

Now I wait for the results of my glucose test. I had like no carbs this morning, just eggs with spinach and cheese and bacon, so I'm hoping that helped.

I do know someone who spotted through her whole pregnancy and delivered at full term. Its still nerve wracking though.

How did you do getting down your glucose drink? I know some people said they gagged but I just chugged them and I was fine. I think I had fruit punch flavor. Maybe that helped. I might have had orange with DD.

It wasn't bad at all! I like sweet drinks, and it was nice and cold. I've heard things about it being horrible, and I wonder if the drink was at room temperature in those cases? I didn't get a choice in flavor, so limeade it was.

I has a slight headache near the end of the hour, but idk if that was anything to do with the drink or not. Now it's just a waiting game to see if my midwife calls, or quest puts my results on the portal first.

To store in the back of your mind if you ever have to drink gag-inducing stuff in the future (like the horrible stuff they make you drink before a colonoscopy)—There are three ways you can somewhat mitigate the taste.

1. Make sure it’s ice cold like Lari Lari did.
2. Use a straw and place it toward the back of your tongue. It helps get the liquid past most of your taste buds.
3. Rub a little toothpaste on your tongue or swish mouthwash around and spit it out. A lot of toothpastes and mouthwashes actually numb your taste buds a bit.

OMG!! This gets me so angry!!! :livid: Nothing worse than a half-butt ultrasound scan!! There is absolutely no reason, why, a competent, diligent ultrasound tech cannot determine how far away from the internal os, the edge of the placenta is!!! I am sooooo mad! :fuming:

There are many ways to determine this.. all it takes is a bit of determination, Diligence and commitment!!

I worked in Maternal-Fetal Medicine; where we always got these type of referrals!! At your gestational age, there is no reason why Bebe's head or body was in the way!!

Suggestion: Think about possibly asking your midwife possibly refer you to either a specialist--for maternal anxiety, and continued spotting.--you really do need an answer.. or schedule a repeat internal US, done during the presence of the reporting physician!!!
If Bebe was in the way, they could have waited, or lifted your hips a bit higher for gravity to take its course!!!! To get a clear picture!! and use Color Doppler Ultrasound to look for placental blood flow!! ugh..
OMG!!!

sorry.. I may have said something inappropriate...

UGH... wish I could do an internal scan on you!!! Dam...

Wow, I never heard of limeade glucola! That sounds kind of cool. The tartness should have cut the sweetness a bit.

I have seen the Cola and the Orange ones. My department used to keep the bottles in the refrigerator
This is kind of what I was afraid of... that is why, I started posting.. dam..
I think the headache could be from the sugar rush... You are eating healthy... no worries...

Love the cake!!!

I'll have another scan at 28 weeks with the lady in my midwife's office that did my 8 week and anatomy scan, and she's been really good. I'm staying on pelvic rest for now, and still no spotting since yesterday. I feel like the hospital guy I saw at midnight last week may have been kind of rough, and that/leftover irritation might have been what caused the bleeding on Sunday, but as long as I don't start bleeding again, I think I'm okay waiting to find out. I just hope it still moves, though since I thought there would be some movement between 21 and 24 weeks, the fact they're not sure makes me feel like I'm going to be in the small percentage that stays put.

...Honestly, the cake is a mess! It fell apart coming out of the pan, whoops. I frosted it back together, mostly. This is why I'm not a huge poster in the baking threads.

Yum! Banana cake sounds so good. Love napa cabbage too. Bebe is getting big!
I think I had one of those drinks in the hospital when they were taking scans. It wasn't too bad. It just tasted like cough syrup.
Glad everything is going okay.

26 weeks

Bebe is the size of this bag of Halloween candy, a boule de pain, a butternut squash (my fave, yum), a bowling pin, a slow loris, and is about 1lb, 10oz. Eyes are supposed to be opening this week after having been sealed shut as well!

I found this self hypnosis/meditation on youtube that's supposed to help resolve placenta previa. I figure it might not do anything that wouldn't already happen, but it also can't hurt, and is giving me a slight sense of control, so I've made it part of my nightly routine for now.

Lelia's snuggling with Bebe.

I love this! I really did expect some kitty / Bebe snuggling. Bolting during baby crying? That’s what baby cries do to some. Humans and kitties. Lol You May find that when the kitties know Bebe, the opposite starts to happen though. The kitties may get worried about baby cries. It’s different if it YOUR baby. I often found kitties heading towards Sarah if she even fussed a little. Male and female learned that she was their kitten too. Watching Sarah later, asleep with her little baby hand clutching some kitty fur and the kitty purring while snoozing with her.... so precious. I have pictures of kittens playing just beyond her and her trying to turn back to watch them. Even the kittens seemed to understand to be gentle when near her. I probably encouraged the “you are all family” thing. Lol Without a doubt, they were. Smokey definitely claimed Sarah as “hers.” Where you saw one, you saw the other. Bebe already has extra love coming.
Glad to hear about the glucose test! BTW, who cares if the cake split? Yummy is yummy! I would never turn down split cake! If it comes with extra frosting to patch it, even better!

Mooch used to sit on my legs while I feed DD. DD would reach back and move her fingers through Mooch’s fur. The girls didn’t really start loving the kids till they were older and could give treats and things quietly. For DS that took forever.

My mother‘s cats have all always been so good and patient with the kids petting them as they learned. Apparently Pumpkin was letting my little nieces give him a makeover when they visited (they were supervised; not hurting him). Hes so great for a lil old man!
