Does taking your cat to the groomers to get "deshed" actually work?

I'm afraid I don't understand your question. I've never heard the word "deshed". Can you explain a little more clearly for me? :headscratch:

I have never taken a cat to the groomers. I use a massage brush that takes off quite a bit of fur and they like it. It looks like a hand and costs about $5.00.

It's basically where a groomer removes the coat that eventually "sheds" to prevent shedding of the fur later. Does that make any sense?

Oh, I think I heard of that. I was considering taking my cat Amira to the groomers because it's supposed to stop shedding. This girl sheds A LOT. White hairs every where!
