It came up in another forum about making butter, and I asked about making goat milk butter, which is reportedly very good. Has anybody here ever tried some? Do you know where to get it?

Yes, I bought goat milk butter from the supermarket once. It was a random find. It was this one: Goats' Butter Archives - Delamere Dairy I have not seen it at the supermarket since :disappointed: I really liked it. Goat milk does have a strong taste to it which some people may not like. If you like goat cheese, you'll probably like goat milk butter. I wouldn't use it for baked goods because of the strong flavor and higher fat content of the milk. I think I used the butter just spread on toast and for sautéing sturdy veggies and meat.

More difficult to make butter from goat milk. It is naturally homogenized with small globules evenly distributed. Difficult to separate, un like cow milk where the cream rises to the top. There are easy, simple cheeses to make using an acidifier such as vinegar.
