Hello again :)

I have been giving My 14 year old tabby 1/4 of Glandex every day for the last 12 days. The problem is that he became constipated so I have given him a couple doses of Miralax (one yesterday and one today). He has pooped which is good, but I am wondering if anyone has experienced this issue.
Is it ok to administer glandex with Benefiber to counteract the effect?

Thank you.

Glandex is designed to bulk and firm the stool to help with naturally expressing the anal glands. It also has probiotics and digestive enzymes to help with the digestive sytem. I'm wondering if you should consult with your vet and see if the dose may be too large? It takes a while to work, and maybe the dose should be reduced a little for maintenance. More fiber certainly wouldn't hurt, but ask the vet first how much and what firmness the stool should be. See is he will eat a tablespoon of pureed pumpkin (PLAIN canned pumpkin) it is a natural fiber additivefor cats. Or some plain yougart. It sounds to me that more water is needed, even if it seems he drinks enough. Get a fountain to intrigue him into drinking, set several little bowls of water around the house. Cats can't resist checking them out and it gets them to drink more. it is tricky to get the stool firm enough to assist in clesning the glands, but not too firm as to cause constipation. You are doing a good job keeping up with it and getting him to go, it's just a matter of finding teh winning combination of water, food and medication. All the luck!

Thank you for your response.
The vet didn’t tell me the dosage for Tiger because it is on the label. I think it is my fault. He is close to 15 pounds (14.7) so I have been giving him the 1/4 instead of the 1/8 which is for cats under 15 pounds. I have a question about the pumpkin. Is it ok to give pumpkin (1 Tbsp) and the glandex? I just don’t want him to have diarrhea.
He loves pumpkin so that’s not a problem. I have been putting extra water on his tiki shredded chicken. I read that chicken broth may help with fluid intake. Maybe I could add some homemade chicken broth to his food and water as well.

Thank you again for all the wonderful suggestions :)

Well they are both basically fiber, and you can't have too much of that, for constipation or diarrhea. i've always been told you can never have too much fiber. I guess for your little one it will be trial and error for a while. Diarrhea won't do his glands any good at all, he needs bulk and firmness to keep them clean.

I have done pumpkin for diahrea. You can also put a teasp in a meal for constipation.
You have to play around with the right amount. Too much, not enough, can go from one extreme to the next.

Can I use the benefiber along with the glandex? It’s three days since his last poop!
Ugh :(

Recently my cats have become constipated
I was told mineral oil till I get them fiber
This can be pumpkin
Metamucil
Even the psycillim packages for pets by purina
I thought the problem was gone
Told Luna had trouble in the box
I see her dragging her bottom on the carpet
She had a dingle berry
A big one
Her tummy tight
I have to begin the mineral oil again
It’s cheaper the purina packages
They haven’t had their nuvet supplements in a long time either
I don’t want to change too much to soon
They used to be on raw until salmonella
They used to have canned until obesity
Now they are dry food
With weird topppers
They are good eaters

Ok glandex are you using a cat version? I only saw the dog version for sale
It is an anti inflammatory to suppyanal glands
If you had a bulldog this would be important
This also is made for dogs, the one I saw.
Why not plain probiotics? For human? Put a capsule ontop of food be done ✅
Yes it is expensive than pumpkin per say
What does your vet say
Run the final decision past the office please
I don’t want to be responsible for a sick kitty

The vet prescribed it. It is for cats. The vet also said it is ok to mix the glandex with Miralax until his body gets used to it.
What do you mean by plain probiotics?

Thanks!

Go a head and ask your vet.
My advice does not replace a vet's advice.
I already did :) She said it’s ok to administer Miralax until He is used to the glandex.
I was just curious about the other probiotics you had mentioned:)

Thanks!
