Hello!
My name is Katy and my babys name is Ichi, and here is our story:
Long story short, about three months ago my mother found four baby kittens abandoned by their mother in the rain behind her house. She brought them in, dried them off, kept them warm and gave me a call, coaxing me and my boyfriend to take them in. Being in our first apartment, it was hard to say yes. But also being without a cat for the first time in our lives, it was hard to say no. The next day we find ourselves with four week old sick and feral kittens. The next few weeks were spent nursing them back to health, socializing them and finding them homes.
When we first brought them in we had promised ourselves, and our room mates that we were not going to keep them. Then fate came into play and I found myself with a really bad flu, leaving me in bed and unable to look for homes for about a week. Over this week this little unsocial kitten went from one of four, to Ichi the Killer (Or IchiNi, which means one two in Japanese) We were unable to give him up and has become pretty much, like our little furry son.
He is now about four months old and healthy as can be. It has been so amazing seeing him go from this tiny little thing, barely any bigger than my hand, completely malnourished, with pinkeye, fleas, worms, and intolerable of humans turn into this huge, fluffy, healthy, loving, attention needing, playful animal.
I look forward to sharing stories, getting and giving advice with everyone here.
