Just wanted to report that Sylvester is so happy and "perky" now, he must really like shorter hair! Plus giving him the Lysine helped with his sneezing and seems to be over the hump and not getting sick from the stress and everything else. I am thinking that maybe it WOULD be good to go in October before it gets too cold and just get him trimmed, not an all out shave down like this was, maybe that would be easier on him but certainly not me lol!!! But he is doing just fine, feels better without the mats and the long hair although I prefer him with somewhat longer hair but it's what makes him feel better I guess!

Good news about the Lysine working!
You are probably thinking of this, --you could do a belly, chest and armpit shave (making sure they go partway up his sides since that's a typical area that mats) along with a hygiene shave, while leaving the rest of his fur...
